It'd take a while before Salford could have a thriving Academy - which should be their lifeblood.

SL isn't strong enough for Salford not to upset the apple cart. You just have to look at the transformation of Wigan under Maguire. He turned a v. average squad into Champions.

It only takes one talented coach who is allowed to imprint his (successful) vision on a team and they can change in a year or two.

Couple that with an owner willing to spend up to and above the salary cap and Salford could be in the playoffs next year no problem.

Not sure Harris is the man for that job though.

Sneyd dosent want to play for them, maybe that's why they going/got Dobson. They seem to think the form he ha at the tigers will be replicated to them. That's only if he wants to play go them and rumour is he dosent.

Not sure where you get 'very average' from, the team was already making semi finals. That 17 is pretty damn good IMO. It would put 50 past this Salford team!

Well it would do in Year 2 of his project. It could take 5+ years to see the right blend of players with the right coach from a team that pretty much started from scratch, so in reality this is actually Year 1 of his project. Last Winter they were one of the clubs who you would look at and say they would almost certainly have gone down but he has made them in one year a club that will certainly stay up and, with a decent run of form in the second half of the season, may well reach the play-offs. they may not, but they won't be going down. So in one year he has transformed them.

Give the bloke five years and see where they are.

There's no way he will be here today-gone tomorrow.

A good coach could turn that around in a year. They are a good team on paper.

I dont think they are a good team on paper to be honest, for me they are a 8-10 place team and would be behind teams like Hull KR. They have too many dodgy Noble signings of old has beens and this has wasted this season for them. Next season their recruitment appears to be much better and they will be a lot better then.
