I was following the ball and even though I watched it countless times I never saw it until you pointed it out to me.

Exaggerating to prove a point. It's very easy to pick "players" who could beat 99.99% of RL players into next week.

Wouldn't make for entertainment though. The reason rules are there is to ensure that the game does not degenerate into this.

Awful tackle. Not even a little bit surprised the officials missed it though, they're consistent in that regard.

I missed it at first but having watched it back several times now their player ought to be facing a lengthy ban. Clearly lifts his shoulder and arm into the tackle and made no attempt to pull out once the ball had gone as that was his intention all along. He'd basically lined him up.

The fact that so many people missed it shows how late the challenge on Green was! TBH I am always more concerned about incidents like this happening when a game is not televised as there is a lot more leeway for injustices being perpetrated, of whatever nature.
At least all future CC games this season will be televised, so there is less chance of this not being picked up by the officials.

I think people are saying they missed it because the 2 min highlights on Wigan TV give it the briefest of time you possibly could right at the start in order to fit all the tries in!

When you know its there and look for it there is no mistake about what went on.

I dont think its that late and should have been seen, the balls gone but not by much, its the swinging arm thats the issue and the intent.

It's a trick he learned whilst on loan at Hull KR.

Patterson has been charged with a grade D offence. I don't think he can submit an early guilty plea for a D so he will be looking at a 4 - 8 match ban.

3-4 max isn't it for a D?

It wasn't really the lateness of the challenge that concerned me but more the intent to hurt Green. He stiff arms him to the head and its as deliberate a foul as you'll see.

He'd be lucky to get away with 4 games.

When you read the charge its a reckless strike. There was nothing reckless about it, it was pure intent. A lenient approach from the RFL but after taking no action with Smith last week I expected nothing less.

Hi folks, my first ever post on this site. I was at the game on Sunday sitting in the stand and none of us saw the challenge on Blake when it happened. However when I saw it on warrior tv that night it looked bad but not necessarily THAT late. I don't think that Paterson is a particularly dirty player and remember that Blake is a tough lad and will expect a tough time out there, remember it was Sandercock's last chance of hanging on to his job. Hull KR's tactics have received a lot of criticism but for 30 minutes they matched us in what was a pretty good performance until Sam's brilliance turned the game. Banning someone for the length of time that Blake will be out is nonsensical. Should Joe Wardle not get any ban because Carl Ablett wasn't injured? Paterson's hit was no worse than Micky Macs back in September - although Micky at least chose a forward to dish it out to- I can understand the frustration as Blake has confounded the sceptics amongst you and is having a great season. Perhaps Shaun Wane does know a thing or two eh?
