| Quote ="Wigan28/Leeds18 Andy"How Dudson didn't keep his place in the team after his first couple of matches is a mystery to me. Did everything asked of him and I like his attitude and go forward. If he keeps this up and loses out again when others comes back it'll be like the worst of the Noble years again. The worst example of which was dropping Mossop from the 2009 semi final v the Dire after he'd been our best forward for the previous few matches because Locky and Bailey came back (and Bailey got injured again).'"
i agree with this after lima and mossop i think dudson is are next best prop. solid again last night and doesnt deserve to be "rested". plus we all know he likes playing against saints

| Dudson this season has been our 4th best prop on form and that should ensure him a place even when everyone is fit in our strongest 17.
Lima, Prescott and when fit Mossop have been our best 3 and are all superb players so they're all nailed on starters. After that Lauaki has done better then expected, Flower is a really handy squad player and Crosby I believe will develop in to a very good player but Dudson's performances have stood him out as the man that deserves that 4th spot. He's only young but he's a huge lad and has clearly worked hard on his fitness whilst at the club. He gets stuck in and shows aggression in the right way whilst keeping penalties and errors to a real minimum. His ball control is very very good.

| Both were very good considering they are work in progress. I was very impressed with Crosbys all round game.

| He's quite an usual shape Crosby. He's very rangy as well as being quite thick set.
I like Dudson although I thought his first stint in the match was quite poor. He didn't run the ball in with much oomph to begin with.

| Quote ="Saint77777"Honestly, Id never heard of these 2. But this is what I like about wigan fans. You have some youngsters who do well in the reserves, you dont bleat about them. You wait until they make their mark in the first team before the superlatives flow. If these 2 played for saints reserves and had a decent game, Saintsfan would have started a 17 page thread about how they were going to rule SL forever and StPete would have claimed he had known them for years and was their drinking buddy who he gets all his (made up) info from'"
To be fair, Dudson isn't one of our youngsters, he was picked up from Crusaders.
We also have another couple of good prospects that will hopefully come through in 2 or 3 years, in Burke and Spencer.

Absolutely.
We're missing four prop forwards - Stuart Fielden, Paul Prescott, Eric Lauaki and Ben Flower - yet we can still put four props out who can do the business and win the forward battle with Tom Spencer also a 5th choice option. And this is without pushing any back rowers to the pack.
We've played 8 prop forwards this season. Stuart Fielden a senior prop being the 9th who has yet to play.
Unbelievable.

| yeah but we don't have good strength in depth, no better than most teams (this is the opinion of other teams fans, not my own)
its unbelievable that we have 9 props who can all play in the tough games and dominate high class opposition.

I read the first sentence and immediate thought "Brian Noble" before I read further!
In my opinion one prop or another will always lose out whenever Lauaki is fit regardless of form. As Dudson is a junior member of the team he will be first for the chop. Lauaki is Wane's "Brian Noble" player. He signed him, he [iwill [/iplay him.

| Quote ="Rogues Gallery"Crosbys is an interesting story.
He wasn't part of the U18's academy and to the best of my knowledge wasn't in the scholarship earlier.
He came from St. Pats straight into the U20's in 2010 and really impressed with his work rate. I suppose late developer best sums him up.'"
Played his amateur stuff at Hindley, had 18 months out of the game, joined St. Pats didnt complete a full season before joining U20's, so he's not done too bad, although i would never tell him that
