What a load of rubbish.
You will find that the people involved with the flags at Wigan have actually offered to help the Saints Fans in any way they can and have invited them to flag meetings at Wigan to offer advice.

If so, lance hohaia is 28 years old(two years younger than finch), he's a world cup winner, four nation winner and just played in the NRL grand final.

He's a current kiwi international who missed this four nations due to injury so he's far from over the hill.

He's not here to just replace a youngster, hrs here to help them out. We can't play week in week out with two very young halfbacks as they lack experience. Leon pryce was our first choice half last year but Gaskell covered due to pryce injuries.

So what you have just said is that lance is pryce's replacement. And pryce would have been above Gaskell if fit? So lance is coming in to play above Gaskell?

Therefore confirming everything people have been saying. Gaskell is being replaced in the team (because pryce never played) by lance.

And lance may get a played in the kiwi's squad, but he would be be know here near the team, Beale and Locke would be above him for the FB position. And let's remember that players like Carl Ablett get in the England squad.

It sure is.
WE tried it and it failed BIG TIME.
But to be fair bringing a top paid overseas halfback who hasn't played there for years is also a risk.

We signed lance hohaia to replace eastmond but with lomax playing so well at 7 he's earned his postion.

IMO I'd have Gaskell as my first choice halfback with lance and jonny fighting over the scrumhalf spot. I have doubts if lance and lomax combo will work.

The signing of lance will make for better competion for positions as he can cover fullback, halves and hooker.

It is a risk but not a huge risk. He is a world cup winning fullback and also played hooker in the nrl play offs and grand final.

He brings options abd comp for places which is healthy. For the first time in years we have comp for places in the backs.

Lucky enough saints have kept their good young halfbacks and brought in experience to help bring them along.

I just think it's a huge ask for two young halves to dirt and create for a top super league club.

IMO we've done the correct thing by brining in a experienced player to play halfback but if lance is the correct player only time will tell.

They wouldn't in Aus if the kids concerned were good enough, but it's a moot point.
