We did make noise, I was there in the middle of it, its not like everyone just sat there saying nothing. It wasnt a massive atmosphere that you get at OT or Wembley but it was ok for a game at the DW, the place is a dead fish there has never been a massive atmosphere there since we moved there, but when we go to away game the away stand is always rocking. I dont know what it is about the DW, its just hard to create an atmosphere.

For example when you lot come over to Wigan, when your all in the away stand singing away, you may think your making an amazing noise over where you are, but we can hardly hear you in the South stand, and vica versa you can hardly hear us in the North.

Why is making noise so important?

It was a great game, fascinating to watch and a great spectacle... well worth the entrance fee. What's on the field is way more important than someone singing in the stands IMHO.

The atmosphere was poor tonight, to be fair.

as for hard to create an atmosphere, it cant be the stadium, more the people in it. IE what you alluded to with when you go away, the atmosphere is great! no doubt about it, when you come to the HJ it is good! but thats because the people who generally travel to away games, are the people who like to get behind the team properly by making a good atmosphere!

and tonight you had a larger number of people that just turn up and sit there and only cheer or make any kind of noise when you score or concede. which is why the atmosphere was poor!

Well to be honest, I really dont care. All that matters is that 24,000 people turned up tonight payed to see a fantastic game of Rugby and hopefully more will start to come throughout the season. Who's to judge if people want to go to rugby and sit there and watch the game? Look back to 2006 when we were crap, we had an average of about 16,000. Our fans grouped together and supported our team to fight relegation and we've all stuck by since.

this is true, and i hate it. I've been going home and away to games since i moved to warrington at around 4, and to be honest i get truely peed off with all the hangers on, but they turn up, they make noise, and they make an atmosphere!

The truth is you play in a stadium with a capacity SMALLER than our average crowds. So in effect, if Wigan played at the HJ every fortnight we would have a sell out every time.

unfortunately, its not our fault that our stadium is only so big, but we do the best we can with the support we have, lets not forget, our histories show that your support should be twice if not three times the size of ours! if supporters are relative to winning trophies etc. etc. Your fanbase is big, yes, but in a fanbase so big, how is it that you couldnt make enough noise to get behind your team on the biggest game of their year???
