| I didn't cry but felt immensely happy simply for the fact that my 12 yr old son was sat next to me and his previous experience of a final was the challenge cup in 2004 where I made him stay to watch Saints lift the cup despite his tears.
I reminded him of the fact at full time and I think we sang the songs at the end of the game together that little bit louder because of that.

| Quote ="Rogues Gallery"I was so made up for our younger supporters, and the ones like the big yin here who haven't seen anything like the highs (and indeed lows) that I have.
When that final hooter sounded I hugged mini and thought about my dad and what it would have meant to him.
Yes I shed a tear.
And today has made it even better in that I have had some fantastic news, which I will share with friends in a few weeks.
I went to see my mother (aged 8icon_cool.gif today and the smile on her face was worth a million pounds. I had a whisky, she had a brandy and we toasted the victory.
Thank you Wigan RLFC, you did us all proud.'"
Indeed Brian, thanks for that... very apt! And as for you both toasting to the late Mr Rouse
i suspect the news is of the 9 month variety btw
or maybe that mini has finally decided to wash his hands of the other team he supports
They did us proud alright, thats for sure.

Genuine condolonces on your loss. With time the pain eases but the memories will always stay strong pal.
And yes I'm afraid I can be added to the list of blubbers. Sheer relief to be honest was sick with nerves before and throughout the game. However watching back on tv in safety at home earlier there were one or two more, this time of pride and happiness! Took me back to my early years watching Wigan and seeing them rise from the doldrums.

| Well I didn't blub but I did miss my Dad not being there. For the past few seasons its been my Dad me and my son at the games but since my Mum passed away in April this year Alzheimer's and old age has finally got the better of him and so he was not there. So I guess I wish we could have won it a couple of years ago when he was still able to attend. Watched the game again with him today on the TV but its not the same as three generations being at the game is it?

| It was such an emotional day, such a pay off from 2006 when many of us where genuinely worried for the very future of the club.
My other half attended her first final yesterday and over the past 5 years has grown to love the club as her own, but yesterday I think that journey was completed, as she experienced all the emotions that previously she dismissed as "silly because its just sport"
RL means so much to all of us on here, and seeing Wigan move towards a bright new future, was an image that I will long remember, perhaps more than anything I've seen so far in my 21 years watching them!

| When my 9 year old son turned and hugged me and I saw the joy in his eyes and I thought of my Mum, who loves Wigan so much (I'm convinced she thinks Lockers is her son! lol) as she lies seriously ill in hospital, I think every emotion imaginable came to the fore, but most of all pride. Pride in the club, the team and the supporters. Simply proud to be a Wiganer!

| The final whistle was the best moment for me. I knew we had won.
Supported Hearts for thirty years and won nowt.
In 1986 we went on an unbeaten run of 34 games and were the best team that season by far . Only had to draw the second last game of the season , and win the last to do a league and cup double lost them both.
Very similar to this season the Warriors have been the best team by far over the period . Sat in my seat at Old Trafford all game waiting for things to go wrong. My son had to ask me several times if i was all right as he was very concerned about me.When the final whistle went i sat there and had a good "greet" and i dont mind admiting it.
Well done Wigan.
PS That was not just 22-10 that was a hammering.

| I'm sure I cried from Rhydian singing jerusalem to leaving the bowling green pub at one in the morning.
I still get teary eyed when I see all teh lads run onto the pitch at the final whistle
Its been a long time coming and being at headlingly and Knowlsey road for them two disasterous games makes it so much sweeter.
hello hello wigan are back wigan are back!!!!

| It was emotional, definately.
In sporting terms, we've been waiting for that for 12 years and we haven't half put up with some crap since 1998 that included having our names tarnished with the salary cap scandal and the worry of being relegated in 2006.
Personally, alot can happen in since 1998/2002. Loved ones who we were so used to celebrating success with are no longer with us and the last time we experienced success was when we were in the presence of those people.
I can't imagine a set of supporters enjoying that victory more than Wigan.

| I didn't at the game but I have just shed a few watching those post match interviews. I think it's finally beginning to sink in. It's my first title being an adult being a grand old 26 today. I've waited so long for this.

| I'm welling up again just reading this thread!
After what we've had to endure over the last 10 years or so, this win is fantastic. The dark days of relegation battling, of being absolutely thrashed by Stains and the Whinos, of being humiliated at home by teams like Wakey and Huddersfield on a regular basis, of SC infringements and all the other rubbish are now behind us.
Not only do we have the best team, the best squad, the best coaching staff and the best chairman, we have the best fans and the biggest fanbase. What the rest of RL has feared for a long time has now happened. The greatest club in the game has risen again and not only are we back, we are back with a vengeance. Bring on the WCC and the 2011 season, I can't wait!

| My 5 year old lad cried when Pat got injured and didn't come back on and also when he spilled his diet coke. Nearly wept at paying £3.20 for 330ml beer. We won, it felt great but no tears from me.

| No tears.. but just a hell of a lot of pride and relief.
How good was it to see not just our passion, but the players passion at the end shining through and defending our line for each other and for that trophy.
Onwards and Upwards.

| Yup, me and JTB stood there blubbing whilst Grego took photos of us and Mrs JTB shouted 'oh my gaaaaaarrrrrddddddddddd' at incredible volume! I also had a tear in my eye when we were presented with the League Leaders' shield, when we won at Headingley and subsequently every time I've watched the end of the GF, from when the final hooter goes to when SOL lifts the trophy. And when I was telling everyone the tale of the GF in work this morning. And now, writing this. God bless Lancome waterproof mascara!
I just hope that, in the event we have more success over the coming years, I still always have the same reaction.
