nd your a =#FF4000pack it in. Pemps arnt you? What message is it sending out that a player can take the man down without the ball and get away with it Im pretty sure there would be uproar if it happened in the last few seconds of the grand final

No need to be rude. Pulling back a player off the ball isn't a red card offence, and has never to my knowledge been reviewed by the disciplinary. You can't "get away with it." It's a penalty and should be a yellow card.
As charming as your personal abuse is, you thought it was crazy that McGuire wasn't going before the disciplinary. I was merely pointing out that you didn't know the rules, as surely re-writing the rules mid-week to bring a yellow card offence to a disciplinary hearing would be much crazier?

| As a neutral, I'd agree that Joel Tomkins has got attitude problems that need sorting; he's a talented but dirty barsteward and if he continues to develop the mentality of being able to dish it out but not take it, the old stagers of this world (like McGuire) will continue to target him.
It's a fine line between gifted and tish and both Tomkins brothers are yet to sort that out in their own heads imo; the pair of them cross the line very often and that's a real pity, as they are both exceptional prospects.

| if you ask me both the tomkins brothers need a good decking to bring them back down to earth.
they are both SO easy to wind up and then they lose it which is not good for the team. as two of our great young playmakers you can understand the odd tantrum here and there, but of late, despite how good they both can be for various reasons and don't get me wrong i'm not saying they are not good players, i think they are both utter class but they just seem to think they are invincible and back themselves at every turn.
we could have had at least another 3 decent half chances at getting near the try line last night if it wasn't for sam being ball greedy. on one of the occasions in the first half, both carmont and pat would have been up against one leeds player who sam didn't suck in with his angled run. just pass the fookin ball!
carmont was livid with him and rightly so. we would also have been 18 nil up with a conversion to come in that instance.
not blaming them for the loss at all, thought it was a game worthy of the GF but still, every little thing contributes.

I think a bit of experience will go a long way in that regard. They've both got plenty of ability, they both need to avoid believing their own hype too much and keep learning and they'll be alright.

The details for charge seems pretty thorough.
They're obviously pretty happy that while he was in a dangerous position, he didn't endanger the safety of the attacker by losing control.

Agreed, but imo they dropped him into a worse position than Buderus did.

I think they got some special dispensation in recognition of the Herculean achievement of actually picking Eastwood up in the first place; that lad, I'll wager, likes a pie or two - no pun intended.

I like that one.
On the mention of pies. I was disappointed there were no chicken baltis on offer last night. Had to settle for a half cooked "steak" pie.

I think he was on his back?
Not sure about whether that should be mitigating or aggravating personally, they obviously concluded it showed more control to put him back down in a safer manner than on his head/neck area like Buderus did.

Buderus put him nowhere near his head/neck.

It was Prescott who was put down on his head/neck.
Not 100% sure if that was the Buderus tackle?

That's the one!
Only the two spear tackles I think, so I'd say that was the Buderus one.

| He also then landed on Prescott's head, which must have hurt more than the spear!

| On the Joel subject, we have been crying out for an enforcer for ages and with Joel we have one in the making and he reminds me a bit of a young Morley, it will take a few daft penalties and a few more years under his belt but he will get there in the end, Joel is in this years dream team, made his England debut and people are calling for him to be dropped because of a brain fart.
He just needs MM and SW to sort his discipline out but not rub it out completely, look at Wayne Rooney for instance, he needs that bit of temper and aggression for him to play at his best and I think Joel and Sam are the same.
