What I did see is, if you play that tackle in 'slo mo' that McGuire elbows Tomkins full in the face. And for the rest of the match you can see Tomkins having problems with his jaw.

He shouldn't have kicked out though.

Although he is the most penalised man in the league, its still a pretty strange thing to do. There are some rumours flying around about him being bitten, but I didn't see anything at the time. We'll wait and see.

See nothing has been mentioned about the Leeds spear tackle which went 'on report' again..!

I watched it in the pub on big screen, it looked like danny maguire give him a little elbow in the tackle, can't see how the could have been a bite to be honest.

IMO it was nothing and should be left at that.

It wasn't that bad mate, wigan did one as well. Both was nothing really.

The jaw injury came from when he slipped and knocked on. He fell into Keith Seniors hand, completely accidental. He started feeling his jaw immediately after.

The kicking incident itself probably wasn't as bad as it looked. Deserved a yellow for the action, some ref's may have gave red. Probabaly won't get a ban as he didnt really follow through.

However, Thierry Alibert should be slapped with a wet fish several times. He is consistently an awful referee and needs to grow a pair of stones. The RFL must be able to find a better referee than that idiot in France.

If it would have been a competent ref, it was a yellow card.

And I certainly wouldnt have wanted to be in his shoes when Shaun Wane got hold of him at 14 all!

Refs are too scared to 'ruin' games now a days hence very few reds on show... Was it Bradford vs Hull a few seasons back where Kearney saw Red and Bulls smashed them in what was billed as a great game?

Plain stupid and typical of our game ATM like all the RFL bans they don't want to let big players miss games etc. Sam Barlow fir Fax got sent off and banned by RFL for a similar thing and I have also seen a no hesitation red for this at Uni level... Why should SL playoffs be any different?

After all the fuss of a few weeks ago about Mason lining up Fieldens ankle and standing (not stamping) on it, and calling for a long ban. Is there any difference from the Wigan player, ( maybe Farrel or Tuson) lining up Buderus' lower leg and deliberately dropping his knee on it?

You can't seriously say neither deserved a card. Who the hell kicks out at a normal person's head height, never mind Joel's when being held down without intent to injure? He could gain no other advantage at all by kicking out that high and knocking a player out/blood binning him.

And as for Joel I don't really care what McGuire did in the tackle - you do not kick other players it is just seriously dumb play and he was expecting a card and deserved it.

I've said many times this year that i rate J Tompkins highly but he does have this kind of thing in his game along with sticking the knees in or standing on the back of tackled players legs and if he's to play for England he needs to cut it out otherwise it will cost more than 2 pts.

My wife noticed it not me. I rewound the Sky+ several times. Maguire clearly makes a biting action on Tomkins' forearm.

It was stupid from Joel and there was no need for it. I wouldnt of been surprised if he was sent off and that would of cost of us the game. Having said that though, intention was there but it wasnt a hard kick and didnt really make much contact. A bit like when other fans were saying Mason didn't stamp he just lightly stepped on Fielden. Both the same situation for me.
