Wire at home. A drunken weekend at Wembley with the undesirable elements of their (and ours tbf) fans wouldn't be ideal for me.

The ideal draws would be Fax or Barrow at home, but I wouldn't mind a trip to either of those places

It does seem harsh but after the Hull fiasco last time they said that the rules out in place would be tough. It is a shame if they are kicked out but the officials shouldn't of let it happen. I wonder if this could go against their superleague licence application too?

The difference is that when Hull did it there was not an operational rule in place to expel them from the cup. One was created after the Hull incident and is mentioned in this article.

The only question is that if they do expel Fax from the cup whether they will reinstate the club that the offence occurred against (Swinton) and allow them a crack at beating Batley for a QF place or whether they just give Batley a bye for round 5.

Its looking possible that Swinton will get a shot at Batley. Its the fairest thing to do i think.

QF: Crusaders v Leeds, St Helens v Warrington, Halifax (or Swinton, or Batley

) v Wigan, Barrow v Bradford

SF: Leeds v St Helens/Warrington, Wigan v Bradford

Final: St Helens/Warrington v Wigan

Wouldn't expect anything to have been announced yet that carries any weight as an enquiry will still be ongoing. I agree though that swinton should get a crack at Batley. It would definitely be the fairest outcome.

Looks as if that would indeed be the case if Fax are expelled. Taken from the RFL Operational Rules for the Challenge Cup

PENALTY FOR FIELDING INELIGIBLE PLAYER
B4.15 In addition to any other action or penalty which may arise under Section D1 Misconduct, the
Board shall disqualify any competing Club which it determines to have fielded an ineligible
Player, save where the Club can show that it had no fault or negligence, in that the Club did
not know or suspect, and could not reasonably have known or suspected, even with the
exercise of utmost caution, that the Player was ineligible. For the avoidance of doubt where a
Club is disqualified from the competition under this Rule B4:15 its most recent opponent
(irrespective of the result of that match) and only its most recent opponent will be readmitted
to the competition even where the offence was committed in an earlier round.

The only option if Fax are expelled is for Swinton to be reinstated and for them to play Batley.
