I would go with that but for me its a simple choice between Farrell and Mossop if we go off form. For me it is more of a choice between Mossop and Bailey, were it against any other team I would have gone with Bailey, but as Mossop has a bit of history with Hudds and will be playing against a few of his mates i would give him the nod, players always seem to up it when playing against mates.
Regards Pryce, this is a make or break game in his Wigan career. No pressure obviously! A good showing and he is instantly back in the frame a poor showing and i doubt we will see much of him again.
Personally I hope he rises to the occasion and proves the doubters wrong, there is a quality player there if we can just nurture him, but time is running out.
Come on Karl lad be the player some of us know you can be!

| After last week I feel Farrell has to play, he was by far our most dangerous and effective player. Bailey was poor last week, and fairly ineffective against Sheffield as well, he needs a game or 2 off imo.

| Re Ainscough he appears to have gone backwards if anything and that is a great shame. IMO there is a case for arguing that MM hasn't given him much of an opportunity (when compared to Goulding, for example) but in Madge we trust. Also, the selection of Pryce gives the game some extra curiosity value. Best of luck to him, I say.

I'd say so, yep. I'd pick Mossop ahead of Bailey, if only because the Giants have some pretty pacey back-rowers, and pace is not Bails's strong point these days.

I'd go with Mossop ahead of Bails, simply because of the sheer size of the Giants pack. Mossop is built more like a prop really (I can see him ending up in the front row full-time further on in his career) and we need all the size and muscle we can get on the field to cope with Crabtree and co.

| Quote ="lothlorian"gutted about phelps. we are losing a big threat out wide with richards by the probability of him being at full back + no amos, against the best defence in the league we could struggle to post points as our pack will not dominate the huge hudds forwards down the middle. feeling a bit pesimistic about this one.'"
Just a thought but in attack if the fullback can drift into different parts of the attacking line then couldn't we play Richards way out wide for when we want to spread the ball or put up a high kick? That way he could still pose a threat down the wing even though he is technically playing fullback? Or is that not possible?

| Why does everyone think Pryce is nailed on for a place in the 17?
Marsh scored four tries in the U20s game and MM may have a mind to reward him rather than select Pryce. Marsh can also go to FB if needed.
Marsh surely has a great future at Wigan.
Just have a feeling Marsh may get the call before Pryce.

of course its possible and from set plays near the line he could float out wide for the high kicks, but from broken play the full back tends to support the halves particularly down the middle. with the ball going wide richards would have a huge amount of ground to make up to link in out wide as and when he pleases. there has to be a certain amount of structure to out sets. and with a winger, centre alrady in position, too many cooks and all that. with amos and pat in position on wing and phelps at fullback, the threat comes from all over the field, through the middle on the wing. richards periodically chiming in is hardly the same. the majority of play is structured sets that create opportunity, Richards cannot position himself on the wing out of position throughout these sets and the only time i see this happening is when we are looking at kicks to the corner in the oppositions 10, which is why i believe we are losing throughout the 80 minute period.

hhhmmm i'm really worried about our ability to score tries against hudds then. Richards would be my first choice fullback from that squad, but is there anyone else who could play that position?
