The RFL should have got Phil Gould to mentor McNamara, not Brian Smith.
"Gus" has won things at club and S of O level, Smith hasn't won anything anywhere!

thats what he was good at for us - different prospect in our team. a real ball playing back rower who looked to be as dangerous with ball in hand as a half. controlled, intellignet handling in the tackle too, good offloads not just throwing it anywhere hock style.

im sure he'll do well.

He hasnt coached a club team in over a decade, and hasnt coached SoO for 6 years.

Brain Smith is a good choice for a mentor, and a good appointment imo
