That's a good post.
We can't send him out on dual contract because of his age. IL has belief in him so maybe that's a reason for keeping him. At present he's in between a rock and a hard place. he needs games at top level. At some stage this season he will get them, and it's up to him how he goes.
If he falls over the line for four tries will he have been a success.
The reason I ask that is a lot of Ainscoughs tries last year came that way, and the consensus was that "he knows where the try line is".
Fair comment.
Then today on Pryce "my grandad could have score those tries"
I fail to understand the discrimination.

I don't troll.
I asked the question regarding their junior systems over a week ago.

Well. I can pick one difference without really having to think about it; that break he made down the left from our own line in the first half, where he was caught around halfway. Ainsy (or just about any other winger) would have gone all the way. With Pryce, he only scores the easy ones. Every Wigan player on the pitch was breaking tackles at will, except him.

Ainscough has NEVER scored a 70 yarder in all the time he was at Wigan.
Pryce should have gone on the outside, which is what I said earlier.
Oh and Josh Charnley is a better winger than either of them, something else I've been saying for over a year.

Because Pryce is a First Team player with 60+ apps and probably on about 5x more than Thornley is?

Was his try vs Castleford not from 70 yards out when he sold the dummy along the touchline? Can't quite remember how far out it was.

Not regularly no. The Ainscough try was at least 50 metres, granted it's definitely not 70, and I'm pretty sure it was his SL debut vs Cas.

| It's imperative that Super League clubs invest into the youngsters coming through the ranks, look at saints with big dollars laid out for Cayless and Soliola, They will have played around 8 games in total in 2 seasons, the future is with British talent being developed, the Tomkins brothers, Mossop, Eastmund, Lomax, along with other budding stars are the players that we should promoting, train them in media work, give them confidence to attract additional sponorship for themselves and the game at large, sorry to say but the England captain has difficulty promoting the game when interviewed, nothing personnel, but communication skills need to be an integral part of developement of individuals within the game. John Wilkin is a good example of the kind of character we need to promote our great game.

I hope he does get a a chance and hope he performs to the level he's capable of, that would really put a different compexion on our squad if that happened. With regards falling over the line whether the try is from 7 metres or 70 they both only get 4 points. Personally I'm not bothered if Pryce scores either, if he played how we think he can in the centres and enabled his winger to get into positions to score either, I suspect we'd all be very happy.

| I didn't see the game against Leeds but I was at Castleford last week and IMO the trouble with Pryce is not his try scoring ability but his lack of effort in general. He ambled up and down the wing looking disinterested and if he had to either take the ball up or make a tackle he then proceeded to stand for 5 minutes with his hands on his knees looking worn out!

It is understandable. They have gone from the pinnacle to the very bottom of Reserve/Academy rugby in less than three years. There is something fundamentally wrong there.

They should be more concerned with how they have a massive catchment area, but don't seem to be able to find quality players.

getdownmonkeyman is very fair (for a wire fan ![Wink icon_wink.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif) ) and we have had this discussion before re Leeds.
What I was trying to do on there was to promote a discussion to see if the Leeds fans had any idea with what has gone wrong with their youth systems. It has been going downhill for the last four years. Warrington U18 put over 50 points on them last week.
As someone who watches a lot of U18 / U20 rugby I'd really want to know what was wrong if it was at Wigan.

I would cite the loss of John Bastian, but he was there up until a couple of years ago. One positive for ourselves in the fallout (can't think of any other way to put it), is the capture of a prop; Brooke Broughton, destructive runner with a good turn of pace. So it isn't all bad!
