| The idea is exciting, but the game has been spoilt with rules that have been added, changed, amended, tweaked over a short number of years and this would just be another.
I like it to be honest, but it's one rule too many and we've shot ourselves in the foot.

| I watched the game online last night and it was actually a very interesting concept well executed IMO. One play of the ball with no kicking allowed, just passes. A penalty try would be awarded if the defending team are penalised for any offence. Could see some very inventive set plays being tried out.
Could actually be as good an introduction as the 40-20 i think. Understand the hesitation surrounding the history of the scoring system but the game as it is now is far removed from that of the original Northern Union rules so i wouldnt be averse to seeing it trialled over here in pre-season or exhibition games.

How much is the second play worth, another 4 points? What would happen if the defence intercepted and went the full length? Or went for the interception and knocked on? Or kicked a loose ball?

| If you score the try and then don't take the kick but go for "second try" do you still get to kick at goal after the second try? i.e giving you a maximum of 10 points from the scores

In all likelihood, yes.

Try for the other team as normal.
Quote ="Grimmy"Or went for the interception and knocked on? Or kicked a loose ball?'"
In those two incidents I'd imagine that as soon as the ball went dead there would be a turnover, which seems the fairest option imo.

| What happens if you score on the 'double try play'? Can you then go back to the 15 metre line and go for a third try?! I presume if you score twice then that is it. You can't try for a third time nor can you attempt a kick a goal from play two.

| Can't see many teams trying it to be honest. In the NFL the 2-point conversion works because you have several different options of what you can do from one play from the 3-yard line (run up the middle, run out wide, passes, fakes, QB sneaks etc.) A tap on the 15 in rugby league doesn't really give you much of a chance of actually scoring a try, especially if you aren't allowed to kick it. We would see some creativity from the coaches should it come into play though, which would be interesting

| Its simply one more play worth 4 points, if you score or not play resumes as a re-start as it would after a conversion attempt.
Didnt hear a mention of what happens in an interception scenario and couldnt find anything online, even on the NRL homepage. Id probably say the play is stopped if the defensive team recover the ball, this is based on the NRL Allstars knocking on in their attempt and play stopping but this is just my opinion.

The double try or eight-point try: Once a try is scored, the captain of the scoring team can advise the referee that the team will forgo the conversion and opt for the chance to have an additional play instead. Once a team decides to attempt the eight-point try, both sides can interchange to bring on offensive or defensive players. Play will then resume anywhere between the 10 and 20 metre mark and in line with where the try was scored. There is no kicking allowed in the extra play – the attacking team must break the defensive line to score. Any stoppage other than a try will see the match restart with a kick-off from halfway.
I think the line "Any stoppage other than a try will see the match restart with a kick-off from halfway" means a try to the attacking team and that if the attacking team lose possession such as an intercept then the play is over and kick off from half way as per usual.

| I think it is a good idea.
We could just get Feka running from just before the half way line. tap the ball when he reaches about 30 knots and hey presto. 4 points in the bag
Perhaps
