I don't care if he comes back or not, I think if he has gone, it'll be the last we see of him.

Skill levels in Rugby league are dead and Tim Smith whether you like him or dislike him has the ability to throw passes that split defences which very very few people can do these days.

The same people who want to see the back of Smith will be the same people moaning about our boring one man style of rugby a few weeks down the line should he leave and not return.

Cannot argue with his ability to throw a pass but unfortunately he cannot take the line on and make a break,cannot run, cannot tackle and I don't think he has beat a man since he has been here. We need a top class stand off to play alongside Sam ( who will be scrum half). Tim Smith is not the answer to our problem.

I disagree, i think sam will be a stand off. He's running game is gonna be some of the best in a few years, and i think that you'd want someone next to him who can do those defence splitting passes, and doesnt particularly need to take on the line.

But he can kick...

I hope he does come back - the combination of Tim, Sam and 2 out of 3 good hookers is a very strong and varied attack.

We have far more options and pose a far greater threat with him in the team.

Our "problem" is we have signed a hooker to play at scrum half for 3 more years. The sooner the club realise this player is a hooker and play him in his rightful position is the day this club moves forward as a team.

I rate Tommy hes absoloute class. He wants to play for Wigan rugby and gives 100% every time he pulls on the cherry and white but hes not a scrum half.

If our half backs where going to be Tim Smith and Sam Tomkins for the next few years with Tommy/Riddell covering 9 we would not have any "problems." Smith's going at the end of the year so its not worth debating.

We missed him big time tonight.

Sadly the solidity we showed in defence would likely have been undone by his presence.

That was the worst kicking game from any superleague side i think i've ever seen.

Tomkins put 2 or 3 good kicks in...............when they'd actually give him the ball and the rest of the time we prefared to give it to Richards who i honestly believe is the worst out of hand kicker i've seen.......hooooooooooooof and hope.

I feel sorry for the lad but it's time to move on. If he does come back, I'd be doubtful of his frame of mind to perform. And it's almost certain he won't stay beyond 2010 from what people are saying, regardless of recent events.

Time to plan for the future.
