I though I’d never see the day where Ganson is refereeing Saints v Wigan. This is nothing but a false flag operation by the St Helens club, Steve Ganson and the RFL for saints to lose to Wigan whilst Ganson is the ref because if Saints lose to Wigan whilst they hometown ref is the official for that game it will make him perfect to ref the Leeds v St Helens game at Old Trafford at the future.

If Steve Ganson is the ref at Old Trafford and its Leeds v Saints I shall never watch super league again. I’ll just get my kicks from the national league or grass roots. But NEVER the NRL.

I thought he didn't have too bad a game tonight (by his usual standards

) but the Feka "try" which wasn't even looked at and Long's Dan Marino impression were ridiculous.

Give him some credit for a job well done, like it or not the game needs focal point characters and he is certainly one of those.. For those who criticize the ref week in and week out ask yourself the question.

If your knowledge of the game is so great why don't you pass the exams? Officiate any match at any level and have everyone who is watching the game knowing the rules better the game better than yourself.

Could you be be sure you would make no errors?

although the ref wasn't overly controversial tonight i thought it was pathetic with Lockers try when Tim Smith kicks the ball you can clearly hear Ganson shout "Onside" then as the pass from Roberts to Gleeson you hear "Play On" Lockers scores then the moron goes to the screen to check for offside why say onside then play on if all he is gonna do is check with the video ref anyway either give the try or don't say onside and play on.

If it had have been a Saints try, just to be controversial for a moment, would you have been happy for the ref to use the video ref in this instance for whatever reason?

I also thought he had a reasonable game, he let it flow as much as possible.

After watching the replays again, Feka did seem to ground the ball late on the second half. He should have headed to the screen.

First Wigan try when kick goes up by smith he shouts ALL ON. Wigan score but he sends it upstairs for video ref?????

Ganson had a decent game. Nothing to complain about really.

More remarkable is his ability to run around the pitch carrying all that blubber!

In fairness though he is one of the fittest refs around and the game speed benefits from this.


I would point to the two "quick restarts" late on in the game as evidence of this.

Ps. Ganson is that bent when saints made the break at the end of the first half that nearly got them back in the game, ganson joined the stains line and started calling 'my ball'!!! At times he loses himself out there and really thinks hes got his dream to play for the smelly scousers!!

Not really sure where all the criticism is coming from. Few dubious calls, but to be fair, he had a good game overall.

That's how I saw it.

After watching all 7 games. He was the best ref of the weekend.

Salford / Quins

Hull / Cas were full of dodgy calls.

He looked a right coward by the end of the game. He hardly took a drive in! Everytime he got the ball he was passing it like he was the new Darren Lockyer

How sad, you convincingly beat us and alls you can do is cry about Ganson and the "salary cap dodging". How Bitter could you possibly be.

He fished and you were caught, hook line & sinker.

For example, let's talk about about how Stains were HAMMERED in the game on Saturday shall we?

So, our little scouse friend why exactly do you think you were humiliated on TV on Saturday?

Do you think it's because our coach out-thought yours?

Do you think it's because our players attitude is much better?

Maybe there is a deep rift in your dressing room?

Maybe your coach has lost the dressing room?

Are all your key players too old?

Maybe we should all visit the Stains forum and give them a few pointers on which players to retain, or which strategy to adopt...............?

I thought Ganson had a very good game made a coupe of mistakes but he could have been a lot harder on us. He let us off with at least 2 penalty's which he could have pinged us for.

The turning point of the game was actually Ganson allowing you to get away with having ten men stood in an offside position. Long scored to make the game 18-6 Saints then got the roll on, made the break and were held up on the line on the fifth. Around about ten wigan players were stood offside round the play the ball area yet Ganson let it go and called turnover.
