Wasn't me that brought Radlinski in mate, I would agree Radlinski was a better player. However Wellens is also an excellent player in his own right.

| Wello has not been bad I'll give you that. He is one of the reasons for your success over the last 10 years. He was at the core of your team with Long, Scully, & Cunningham. All played in key positions and the stability it brought has laid the platform for you now. it does however make me sick LOL

| Quote ="Cruncher"... how does Eddie Hemmings deal with such an immense orgasm misfire?
I hope it was even more agonising for him than it sounded.
Seriously, the guy is a stain of the first order. The heaping of praise upon St Helens in recent matches has only been matched by his lack of it when Wigan were the (vastly superior) champions. He's a typical jealous scouse scrote.
Funny, isn't it, how, when Wigan were sweeping all before them, you couldn't help but feel that he was worried it wasn't good for rugby league. Equally funny (or maybe not) how he doesn't appear to worry about that with Saints.
It would be nice to think that, after tonight's result, he'll be totally p*ssed off. But the reality is that when Saints' star wanes he'll just go on to someone else - as long as it isn't Wigan.
What a found-out dick.'"
I doth my hat and my bottle of Grolsch to you sir. Outstanding view. Hemmings is about as talented as a monkeys anus. His one eyed views of St Helens don't help Sky spread the game nationwide, they in fact reflect the game in a bad light.
I would love 10 minutes of his time to discuss it with him, but he will have more pressing issues to moan about such as colours of numbers on kits.
His performance on Boots & All where he never fails to steer the conversation from Wigan is equally one eyed.
As for Wellens - loved his air shot for the first Bradford try
He is a fantastic clubman and been a loyal servant to the game, but is a terrible sportsman and vastly overrated within the world game by Saints speccys and Sky Sports commentators.

My favourite Eddie and Steveo wellens orgasim moment of the night had to be when he juggled a kick off infront of the posts and only held on with a little help from the post itelf...............eddie and stevo went on to rave about it like it was the catch of the century when infact it was Wellens getting himself in a right state whilst taking a ball radders could have caught behind his back, on one leg with his ipod on and a blindfold for good measure!

Hemmings got lucky in that if Sky were to audition now for rugby league commentators he probably wouldn't get the job. Back in the early 90's (BSkyB days) he was probably the only one who applied for the job. Credit where it's due he has turned the position into his own by being what Sky want him to be - controversial, talking rubbish and going with the flow (ala Andy Gray, Richard Keys and that prat who commentates on rugby union ettc, etc).
And of course Wigan sweeping all before them wasn't on the sky agenda and still isn't relevant to modern day sports broadcasting were the now and the present is what attracts TV audiences - hence his complete avoidance of any excitement or proper unbiased comment when the subject arises.
It's the same with the football - sky love the present big 4 scenario as it sells television - of course the fact that two clubs in Aston Vill and Everton who have had an equally if not better history than Chelsea in terms of honours won, better players and crowds is irrelevant to sky. It's the present that counts not the past hence why Everton especially (9 times champions and bigger crowds traditionally than Chelsea could dream of) are ignored and seemed as irrelevant.

| Sadly, all the praise and awards heaped on Wellens say more about the lack of quality within the British game than Wellens himself.
You have to hand it to Wellens, his positional sense and commitment are superb, he does the very best he can (apart from the odd defensive lapse ) within his limitations but ultimately, as the old adage has it, there is no substitute for pace. Wellens has no pace. He can never therefore be world class.
He is and has been the best British FB (well, after Radders hung up his boots the first time, obviously ) but that's because there simply aren't enough good players in British RL.
In fact the game is going backwards and standards are slipping further.
And we all know why that is, don't we? Though our plastic scouse friends will never admit it because they think they're doing well out of the system and don't want it to change, even though the damage to the game becomes more obvious with every passing season...
