i dont expect a win, i just want to see a bit of passion from 1-17 on the day and I will be happy, over the last two years we have took some real hidings of saints and that is down to lack of derby passion- the saints lads know what passion is. Maybe the presence of ainscough and sam will do us the world of good, and hopefully the sigining of gleeson regalvanises us.

weve played against saints with passion 3 times over the last 2 seasons- one time we narrowly lost at knowsley road 19-12, one time we beat them at the jjb in which was how wigan should play, and one we battled for a point! I want to feel how I did after these games, proud to be a wigan fan.

Hopefully noble trys to relax the lads this week and id personally tell them the pressure is off, wigan are not expected to win thursday night and saints are expected to steamroll us, we see the best of of wigan when we just play rugby, ie 2002 challenge cup final, lets be adventurous against them and go all out for the win!

Pretty bad how at this stage the majority of us would settle for a good performance rather than a win.

Like many others I just hope we show some passion and enthusiasm and not all this predictable flat attack stuff. Used to go and watch Wigan and think "How many will we win by" this was gradually eroded and finally we got to Millwardgate and went thinking "How many will we get stuffed by" and now I go and think "Wonder which team will turn up this week". I'll live in hope.

I'd love it if an extraterrestrial knocked on my door and offered to exchange a ton of cut diamonds for a novelty dog turd.

The chances of the latter are infinitely better than the former.

I keep on thinking about THAT good friday - hopefully we have enough wigan lads in the team to install some passion, but I do think we will get beat but I do have a great pair of cherry and white tinted specs.

I fear for Noble after the Easter weekend, I really do.

I think if we are within 20 at final whistle, it will have been a monumental effort from the boys. At the moment they are far far to good for us in every department, and we are nowhere near strong enough mentally to cause a shock.

It could however be a good day though at the bookies, as no matter what, we will only have a 4 point start, so i say get some brass on and at least get something out of the game!

As you rightly say the thing with that match was all the young enthusiastic players giving their all and then some and can't see a 2003 MkII on the cards unfortunately.

you just hope the enthusiasm that sam and shaun showed in the london game will be there again on thursday - they dragged the rest of the team up that day just by being giddy and surely the thought of them playing in the derby is all their dreams coming true at once?

Strange player is Wilkin, flat track bully springs to mind. Never saw him in the world cup, but that can be said about a few players to be fair.
