| Just on a side note there’s a video going round on Twitter if Andy Farrell giving a team talk to the B&I Lions RU a few years ago (I think I read it was 2007ish). It’s absolutely fantastic and shows why he was Wigan, England and GB Captain and how he got to where he has in RU.
Can’t help but feel RL has missed a huge beat with people and coaches like him. We need his calibre back in the game and I would love him as Head Coach.

God forbid someone's got a different opinion!
I'm also tentatively looking forward to next season, but I've not got that much faith in Lam.

Oh come off it.
People are being realistic rather than over or under optimistic. First game is a hard game and if we lose but put in a good performance I don’t think you’ll see too many criticising heavily.

We as a sport can't afford him, long,Ford etc they are on a lot more money than we can afford,we will see how good of a coach he is as the 6 nations due to start soon,he was a member of the disastrous England coaching team that capitulated in the world cup in England

Come off what? It’s the people who don’t attend games who are the first one’s to moan about performances and needing better players etc, the only way we’ll be able to keep spending up to the cap is if people get off their backside and start contributing towards Wigan

My apologies, I didn’t read the full quoted post so on that - I agree.
I can’t get to every game due to work. I’m looking at maybe 2 games a month, 3 tops so I haven’t bought a season ticket as I don’t think I’d get full value out of it. I’ve got a membership instead. Not sure whether it’s worthwhile or not but it’s something and gives me a sense of belonging more than in previous seasons when I would walk up and buy a ticket instead.
That said I still will throw in my two pence worth, as little educated it maybe on games I haven’t attended (usually pass opinion off the Super League Show highlights).

If Andy Farrell cared anything about our game, he would either have never gone into Union or come back to it the moment he give up playing in Union.
No way do I ever want to see him as Coach of Wigan and I know a few around Wigan who think the same way!

I thoroughly agree I'm of the same opinion about him as i am about Shaun Edwards i never wanted Edwards in the first place he's been out of the game for 20 years its about Ian Lenagan's only mistake since he took over our wonderful club

Agreed and i haven’t had a season ticket for 2 years due to where I’m working but I still attend 20+ games a year, mostly away games however which is why season tickets aren’t benificial to me, but it’s often the people who don’t attend that shout the most on this forum and it’s quite sad really, they expect the club to fork out millions a year but won’t fork out £20 themselves.

I'm neither. I'm a paying spectator that doesn't want to invest and commit to a season ticket, based on the dirge I was treated to last season. I'll turn up to most games no doubt, but want the safety of not having to pay if it's as bad as last season.
Guess my opinions invalid as I'm not a blinkered happy clapper though, eh, Johnny?

| The rubbish posted on this thread after my last post is mind boggling. Apparently you're not a committed Wigan fan unless you're unquestioningly sucking Lenners off.
I'll be there for the majority of games, like I was last season, but I don't want to commit to a season ticket as the rugby for a lot of last season was gash.
Apparently I should just stay away.

Suzy Banyon,
I think you will find that you are not on your own by not getting a season ticket, despite the signing of Bibby, Burgess, Clarke and Hastings.

Perhaps many have seen that the game is no longer the game it was before the nighties when Union went professional and Wigan moved from Central Park to the soulless DW Stadium which does not have the same atmosphere as other clubs with Leeds, St Helens and Warrington being just three examples.

A fair point, however how does that equate with the fact that Wigans average attendance at the DW is higher than that at Central Park in the 80's and 90's?

| Well I'm looking forward to the new season, I reckon it'll probably be a slow start as the new players bed in, probably too slow to challenge for top spot, but I'll be bitterly disappointed if we're not the team to beat come September.

I completely agree with what you’re saying on all points but the fact is the ones who moan the loudest are the ones who sit on their armchair all season claiming to be a “concerned supporter” my point is if Wigan fans want to see better facilities and players then they’ll have to start contributing because Lenegans pockets aren’t everlasting

I am looking forward to it and I do also expect a slow start for the same reasons and the fact our opening fixtures are against quality and intriguing opponents in Warrington, Cas, Toronto and Hull. That being said I’d also like to think all 4 are perfectly winnable games too. By the Hull game I think we’ll have a good indication on whether we have improved or it’s more of the same from 2019.
I’ll be disappointed if we’re not the team to beat come September but equally I don’t think or expect we will be either. As I’ve said before I don’t think 2020 is a likely year for us to go out and win trophies. 2021 is much more likely IMO.
