These fixtures were set out last year though so how were they to know that latics would be in trouble and may need to win their last home game and how would they know wigan would get through and get a home tie?

BBC have removed thier 2 chosen games from the web-site.

I am hoping our game is on SKY on friday night. Despite all the fuss though, I don't see the venue announced on the BBC website for any of the games.

Apparently there are 2 weddings on saturday at the DW!

If they want me to come down and do a job on Whelan they only have to call.

I can't help but think maybe any decision will be stalled until after Wigans game against Blackburn on Monday. If they are safe then the game will go ahead at the dw, if not... then we will be playing elsewere.

It wouldn't be ideal to leave it till so late in the day to get it sorted but it might be the only chance we have of playing the game at the DW.

no 24 hour.... but a rule by the Prem League that states the club must do everything in their power to ensure the pitch is in a fit state..........

So Whelan gets to dictate what games are on BBC now?

FWIW I hope it goes ahead on the Friday as it is the least embarrassing outcome and maintains the integrity of the competition, but a big part of me would be p*ssed off that Whelan is able to deprive a showpiece game from terrestrial TV at a time when we are all complaining about the lack of coverage the sport gets.

There is no better advert for RL on free TV than Wigan v Saints.

Which to me is the grey area surrounding this particular FA regulation. Who decides whether the pitch would be in an 'unfit' state if the game were to be played 24 as opposed to a 48 hour turnaround? Presumably this is DW's opinion/decision? DW trying to deflect any blame here.

The problem with that is that a club will be in breach of regulations if it does not give 10 days notice of a change of venue.

I'm pretty sure that no-one gives a flying french fancy about RFL rules, including the RFL themselves.

thats not as daft as it sounds....easy peasy to reach by train ....and holds a decent atmosphere

If that is the rule then the RFL have been a bit silly making the next round so close to the draw in the first place. the first match of the round is 10 days after the draw was made... not really giving clubs much of a chance to sort anything. Pretty much contradicts my earlier post saying we shouldn't be blaming the RFL but oh well.

I think it's fair to say that all party's involved have played their part in this ball's up.
