| Quote ="Woody_woody"And rightly so. Barrow couldn't organise a p1ss up in a brewery. Batley on the other hand....
I cant believe some simple minded people still think this is Barrow rlfc fault because of the ticket fiasco and that the capacity of the ground is too small!!!
1. At least Barrow own their ground.
2. The RFL should hang their heads in shame if they cant accomadate 10,000 free tickets for the forth round.
3 If you are a true supporter you would contact rfl or Wigan rlfc and explain your concern regarding the tickets and possibly contact the Barrow rlfc shop and purchase a ticket!
4. It's nothing to do the way things are run at barrow.

| The problem is that Barrow ground has a capacity of around 6,600.
Wigan are entitled to 30% of the tickets, which is circa 1,980 tickets.
Why have they only been given 1,000?
Who's fault is that? It certainly isn't Wigans.

| I know the guy who got the big block of tickets (it was eighty odd) and to be fair that same group are at EVERY AWAY game.
I have to be honest I would much rather they got their tickets than people who are only interested because it is free.
There is no simple solution, other than not doing such a stupid promotion again in the future.
Is our product so bad it has to be given away?
NO
So why are we?
This pot of money that is being wasted in this way could surely have been better spent.

simplest solution is to do what Liverpool used to do in the 70s (may still do it).......give out a numbered voucher with every ticket.
the ones with maximum vouchers got priority, then downwards etc...making it that fans who went to most games got priority on cup and euro games .

| Its in the Evening Mail today that currently the Capacity for Craven Park is 4300, early next week it should be getting upped to 5400. Then if various safety requirements are met thet hope to get it upped again to 6275. It seems they are waiting on the Cumbria County Council.

But they sell out away trips every week. This kind of situation off memory hasn't arisen for Wigan since 1995 when we drew Batley.

Comes back to the same repeated point. I paid on the day at Hull so how would the ticket office know I went?

| Just been to pick my tickets up for the Barrow game.
Asked to see my season tickets (no problem), then had a 5 minute argument with him, as he insisted that the ticket office kept the season tickets till after the Barrow game !!!
He had to go and see someone before he agreed to had back the tickets.
Simple question, just what kind of idiot are they employing there.

All computerised now, they can keep a record of away attendances against people's 'client code' from their season ticket.
They should say if this situation arises in the future, people with away attendances will get priority. That will encourage people to pre-purchase tickets for away days - which is a good thing because a % of pre-sold away ticket revenue goes to Wigan.

Despite the relative merits of the 80 people that actually received those tickets, it doesn't make it right that one person is able to do it. What was stopping someone who hadn't been to an away game all season from doing exactly the same or worse just because it was free and they decided to get a group of fans together to make the trip?
The club has failed in its duty to allow all season ticket holders a fair opportunity to gain a ticket under the promotion in view of the allocation being limited, by not imposing a limit of tickets being obtained by individuals and has further ripped off fans who couldn't get to the ground by using an 0871 number for sales.
I'll be there, even if I have to buy a ticket from Barrow, but in doing so I will actually be more than £30 out of pocket in trying to obtain supposedly 'free' tickets to the game, only to then in the end have to pay anyway.

Quote YOU HAVE BEEN DRAWN AWAY.'"
Thanks for pointing that out.
Quote Craven Park has an 'adequate' capacity. '"
Obviously it doesn't if only 10% of our season ticket holders can get what they were entitled to? 25% minimum should have got tickets as that would be an adequate number for the offer that was on. Why should fans who go home and away have to stump up cash for what should have been a free game just to benefit you? If the RFL want to promise season ticket holders free access into the fourth round challenge cup then it may have to consider what happens in situations like this cause imo it's caused unneeded headaches for fans. Simple answer imo would have been free fifth round ties but seeing they don't wanna do this you should have been forced to move the game.
Quote I can't believe the arrogance of some fans. What do you suggest we do? Make sure every Wigan season ticket holder gets a FREE ticket and turn away our own PAYING fans ??'"
It's not arrogance it's all about getting what you was promised before hand. It's not an anti Barrow rant but sadly it's not good enough.
Quote You will probably get extra tickets in due course. And you'd better sell them ALL after all this bleating !'"
That’s the problem if we do end up selling them to our fans. If these tickets come available later they should have been available from the start.

| Here's a revenue making suggestion for Ian Lenagan.
Print vouchers in the programme.
Buy a programme and get a voucher.
For the "big" or "awkward" games, vouchers have preference.
I now don't but a programme, but if that was the scenario I would.
More revenue for Wigan and a fairer system.

Good idea but it would just be a money making scheme would it not when all season tickets are electronic? They have the home data and maybe it's the away data they need?
Lets not also start going down the road of trying to categorise fans by the games they turn up 2 as not every one is the same with work and family commitments.
Like I said 1k isn’t enough to make the fans happy 2k or 2and a half probably would have meant this mess was avoided.

| In order to save you some money and avoid lining the pockets of the local Council............
DO NOT PARK IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS AS YOU WILL MOST LIKELY BE CLAMPED.
Asda Carpark
Tesco Carpark
Halfords/Homebase carpark
Hollywood Park Carpark (the one with Mc donalds, Pizza Hut etc) has now put signs up stating you will be clamped !
I guarantee the Parking wardens etc will be out in force knowing there is an opportunity to be had. Thats how the little Hitlers behave round here.
Boycott these fast food places and Supermarkets on the day and spend your money in surrounding pubs where you will get a far better meal anyway. Alternatively in Craven Park or bring sandwiches etc.

| Problem is there are no carparks nearby that hold enough. Plenty of streets but again as Ive said the little Hitlers will be out in force.
Keep your eye on the forums for details. I hope the club can sort something with the Hollywood Park situation but im unsure how they will.
Get here early is all I can say really. With a bit of luck someone from the Barrow Forum will give you some more tips as Im not a Barrovian and my local knowledge is limited.
Also avoid The Range carpark to. Im not sure about Next and Blockbuster Video's carpark

What sort of double speak is this ????
This voucher scheme was floored from the begining , if it was for HOME GAMES ONLY then every fan from every club would have been catered for, providing you got a home draw, but thats the "luck" of the draw isnt it.
You say in one breath not too categorise fans by the games they turn up 2 as not every one is the same with work and family commitments, but then on another posting claim that you should get a lot more tickets as more fans who travel home & away will miss out ??
PS, We can hear the "Wigan Whinge" from here, all we need now is to hear it along with seeing the "Wigan Walk' with 10/15 mins to go to the final whistle, now that will rock our senses
