Wigan missed out there. From what I heard 9 of the team Makinson was in were picked up by Wigan. Makinson must have been a late developer I can't see your scouts missing him. |

Personally I've not seen anything in Makinson that suggests we've missed out on anything. He is better than Foster though. Saints' youngsters did a good job last year but it's interesting how they will cope this year when expectations are much higher. I think a few may suffer from second season syndrome.

From what I've seen, the main thing Foster has is his kicking, which he is very good at, but Makinson, as well as being a good kicker, is very quick, doesn't mind getting stuck in, and is getting better defensively.
If we had to take one of them, it would definately be Makinson for me.

Even then he's not much of a threat with out a good centre, I just don't see what he offers to a team other than goal kicking. He's not quick enough to be a flyer and not big enough to be potent "bulldozer" close to the line. |

He isn't a Wiganer really. Although he played for Orrell St James', he lives in far Billinge and went to Rainford High School. He's been a Saints fan all his life and got signed by them at an early age so he was always gonna play for them |
