| Quote ="Stu M"I must admit I was embarrassed by quite a few Saints fans today and not for the first time away from home. I know who she is without even watching videos as she was a few rows behind us.
We have a great away following in the main, taking big numbers and are loud but we have definitely attracted a yobbish element, lads who can’t take their ale and think they are untouchable. I went with my eldest lad today who’s 13 and my mate and his lad who is only 6.
We both said that that is probably the last time we’ll go on a coach. We normally take it in turns to drive but given the distance today and it was a Saturday afternoon we thought we’d take a coach from a pub. I’ve normally only taken coaches from the club before. After today it’s not for me. I’ll drive next time regardless of distance.'"
Sorry to hear that Stu.
Saints are a decent club and I would expect them to identify that "lady" and ban her, as should every other RL club. What did surprise me on viewing of the video was that it wasn't just adolescent kids involved, there were a lot of older fans who should have known better.
I remember the "good old days" when fans could stand together have a good bit of banter, shake hands at full time with "See you next time" regardless of how the result has gone. Very rarely was there any trouble.
Then again the licensing laws were much stricter and different.

| When we played Penrith a Saints fan was seated behind me a slagged off Wigan at every opportunity and praised Penrith likewise, however we had great banter between us and at one point he said "you are loving this" I replied "yes I am "at full time we shook hands he went on his way with the knowledge that he had seen a great game (he chose this instead of Huddersfield V St Helens) and I went away with the knowledge of Wigan had just become WCC.
Not all Saints fans are di*kheads just some and need to be weeded out and the good ones praised .
When teams that have been at the top they cannot understand why they are not anymore, sad really.
The form team are HKR,playing brilliant RL and Lewis is a fantastic player,I think we will win the CCsemi but it wont be easy.

| Quote ="Stu M"Well that was a long day and coach journey home…
Second half capitulation but wow HKR were good second half too. Mikey Lewis was superb and the pace of their ball movement had us falling off tackles and poor first contact. Very un Saints like.
Strangely enough our attack looked decent at times and Welsby looked more like his old self, scoring once and assisting every other try (from memory)
I still think Wigan will win the CC SF but boy they’ll have a hard game. Two weeks on the trot they’ve smashed Wigan and then Saints. That’s impressive.
In answer to the Dodd question, I think his injury has derailed him. Prior to that he was playing some really good RL but he’s been a shadow of himself since bar the WCC game.
He doesn’t take the line on anymore and his kicking isn’t good enough. Just another part of the rebuild we need when he’s gone.'"
Do you think Dodd’s problem down to coaching? It will be interesting to see what happens if he teams up with Bennett at South’s.

This sort of behaviour needs eradicating, not just at Saints but all clubs. The lack of a policing presence is an issue however, each club has a duty to identify such morons and issue them with a significant ban (if not a lifetime ban). A family sport is being hijacked by morons.

I know there's a difference with this woman actually throwing bottles but I'm sick of having beer chucked over me especially at away games, just ban taking drinks into the stadium bowl.

These are the same kinds of people who turn nasty if you disagree with them while chatting in the pub. They're horrendous and I don't know how they get through life. Thankfully they're a minority but all clubs have them (though I think they tend to come out of the woodwork more when a club is doing well).

100% all clubs have them. I can remember Salford being terrible when we had them in the SF of the CC at Warrington. Cas being bad at Magic weekend the year Hardacre came to Wigan and we had idiots when we traveled to Camp Nou. Idiots who can’t handle their ale imitating football hooligan, never understood it. I don’t mind the banter and I think rugby has the right amount of it but over past few years this crap has crept in

| Quote ="FearTheVee"Interesting take . . . . young Davies and Simm will be pleased to hear they are first choice scrum half and wing respectively
Wigan have lots of momentum currently and we are struggling to build any momentum with injuries in key playmaking positions and suspensions.
That said in the last few weeks weve navigated that to push Catalans away with a fair few out (should have won it at the death and Catalans frustrations should really have been rewarded with two red cards as the following bans confirmed), then beat Wigan, then nilled Hudds with 12 men.
We're struggling to be at our best but with Walmsley/Grace now back, Percy/Tommy to come, Lomax looking far more comfortable with his arm injury and hopefully suspensions calming down a little I'm still confident.
I know this will sound arrogant but pre-season I thought injuries in the spine would be the thing that could stop us getting the 4 in a row. With Dodd gone and Hopoate seemingly gone, I think this is where we are vulnerable.
It looks like Roby might now be scrum half for the business end to allow Welsby to play FB, which weakens another area. An injury to either Welsby or Lomax would be game over IMO.'"
Awkward moment I started reading this thinking what is FTV smoking only to realise I was reading a post that is 2 years old.
God how times have changed

I think we should go well further than this. Let's ban singing, no wait let's go full snooker and ban anything that registers over a gentle whisper.
Anyway back OT...
I can actually sympathise somewhat with the Saints fans on this one. For me it comes down to having a bit of respect. Everyone hates us, Saints or Leeds, but in reality, it's those three sides who prop up every other club in SL.
Hull KR and plenty of the historically "smaller" sides, seem to go OTT when they beat the bigger sides. They spend longer, giving it to the away teams fans, than they do actually congratulating their own team.
They then yap on about it for far too long too. How many Wakey fans went to town last year because they beat us on an off day? We won the LLS and GF, they got relegated - yet they still talk about beating us, like it actually mattered. Hull KR did the same this time last year, what happened in the SL semi final? Didn't the Cas players once all gather around in front of the away end after winning a league game at the DW?
I've seen plenty of other celebrations from sides like they've just won a final, when in reality, they've one one game. Grinds my gears.

The highlight of a season for fans of teams like hull kr, Salford, Warrington etc is beating a big club. So of course their fans are going to celebrate. Fans of the opposing team should be able to be gracious

Of course fans of smaller clubs are going to celebrate and enjoy the moment.
Carrying on the way some of the Saints fans were is totally unacceptable and inexcusable.
It’s not isolated to Saints though, it is just another example of thankfully a small minority of fans that exist within most clubs who bring embarrassment on their clubs and the game.

Not sure it does. I applaud them for taking a stand all our clubs should be dead against it as well.
I think he might go at the end of his contract but Saints seem to be able to fend off NRL interest better than anyone else

| I wonder what Saints think to Delaney entertaining it? I presume he has done for this to come out and I also presume they've only found out about it after the event. Souths are bang out of order and the lack of respect from an NRL club towards the English game comes as absolutely no surprise but the player and his agent could have discussed it with Saints in the first instance.
On a side note, I don't think he should be looking to make that move just yet. He's got loads of potential but I don't think he's ready yet. Teams have worked out how to deal with him better now, after he made a big impact when he first broke in and he's still developing.
