Big lad too. I was a bit aprehensive when people were saying sign him on here but I made a point of watching him and I wouldn't ming it if we did. Also Karl Temata did ok too, I slated him saying he was crap but he did well last night even thouigh he isnt the biggest.

In my opinion we should pull out all the stops to replace Fielden with LMS at the end of next year, and we should target Mason/Petro to replace Coley at the end of this season.

I agree but not with Mason. He blows hot and cold, would rather have O'Meley.

According to Lenaghan he's the fastest player at Quins. He ticks a lot of boxes, as Cullen's Satday afternoon Miss Powers would say.

Bulldogs used to have some much physical dominance with a front row of O Meley and Mason, get them both in Cherry and White!!

I would be concerned about Masons attitude and application.

Bet Fielden would be over the moon with that signing.

Mason at any SL club would be devastating in my opinion, he would not have to be at the top of his game to still be the standout player in the League, simply because of his physical gifts and mentality.

When he wants to though, he would cost a fortune too.

This is the main reason i want him, it may stir the soft sod into life.

Fielden when he came brought the best out of Feka who was struggling for form.

Pongian brought the best out of Smith who had not lived up to expectations.

If Fielden would not stand up with a player like Mason in the squad then there is something wrong with the lad.

He would not be cheap but why should he be?

Even when he could npt be bothered he would still command respect and mkake big yards, something our pack at the moment needs.

I would love to have a look to see how much these players are actually on and how much the aussie rep players want to come over and stuff. I don't think big willie will leave the NRL untill his rep career is over though.

Don't think Mason is the answer to our prop problems

BUT

Predominantly plays 2nd row
Not a leader
Attitude/application would be a certain problem
Would want an absolute bag full

I also think he has lost a lot of form recently. I think he will struggle to get an Origin place IMHO

So will Trent Barrett!

Not sure you need any more imports in your team.
Noble is doing exactly the same as he did at Bradford signing overseas players whose grandad was born in Ireland for example so therefore exempt from quota.
Wigan have an excellent youth system.
Consolidate for a year or two and nurture your home grown players.
It worked at Leeds.

We need a top Prop now in 2 years we will be in the same situation even if we consolidate as we need a specific type of player who is experienced and intimidating, we do not have anyone capable of taking this role within the club, which is why we need to look elsewhere, again in my opinion there are non of this type of player available in the SL hence we have to look to the NRL.

The grandparents rule is no longer in existance as we now abide by which federation they were trained in not where there grandparents are from.

Steve Price would be the player I'd want in our forwards next season in the Cherry and White to replace Coley, just the kind of leader/enforcer we are missing, him or Petro

Why would you want Fielden at all?

Reduce his contract and get another enforcer along with him and we would definitely start to get the better out of him again. He still does alot of hard work but has had to change his game since being at Wigan, instead of going through the defence like he used to he goes down easily trying to win the floor/arm wrestle to get the quick play the ball (which we seem to be more obsessed with these days in this country).

For the last year he's had Coley along side him, hardly an enforcer or someone who strikes fear into the opposition. Fielden still has the aggression but can't do it all by himself and needs another enforcer along with him.

Price is an excellent player but isn't he about 35 now?

Yes he's 35.

He will retire at the end of the season too IMO

As for Fielden I think he has had his chance now and doesn't deserve the shirt anymore
