Apparently Cas have signed Rangi Chase till the end of the season (and a further 2 year deal), more or less shuts the door in Hampshire's face.

I think the time has come for the club to perhaps cut their losses with Hampshire,he's standing still both at Wigan and it seem at Cas too and lets be fair if he cant break into that side why would he walk into the Wigan side?

Time maybe for him to move on and find his feet elsewhere.

He could go to Hemel Stags.....they need some defence and then I'll be able to keep an eye on him

It's been a poor move alround really. In his time at Wigan he's struggled for opportunities in the halves get this year he would have had plenty earlier on this season. I'm not saying he'd have done enough to stay in the team but at least we could have made a solid judgement on him.

As things stand it's up in the air. He's not playing at Cas and he won't play here. We've got him tied to a long term deal though haven't we? If so it might be in our best interests to keep loaning him out just in case he ever truely breaks through as a top player. At some point in sure Williams may have a crack at the NRL and you can't really predict what will happen with our other options.

It's very strange (and little sad for him) - even at Cas with the injuries there they have prefered playing a hooker and prop in the halves over Hampshire, Powell and Orr you would think know a bit about half back play and yet Hampshire can't get a game there. So all in all it has not been a good move.

With Tommy soon back at Wigan and Shorrocks fitting in well in recent outings the future for Hampshire at Wigan does not look promising, hard to see what is the best for him other than a move to another club but without being able to show what he can do on the pitch it is hard to imagine clubs being willing to sign him, as he is on a long term deal at Wigan so would cost any club in transfer fees.

Not ideal for anyone.

Hampshire is playing on the wing today for Cas v Catalan.

That's an interesting selection, be fun to see how that works out!
