Your youngsters did well today , we were rubbish compared to last week , Ben was your best player , it is good to see him actually being given the ball now [ when I've seen him in your reserves he has been ignored by your half backs in favour of their ' mates '

Many of these young men will be pushing your so called stars in the next few years , hopefully they will be given their chance , unlike in the past

As for us , well , we were rubbish , a lot of work required if we are to avoid last years relegation

It's difficult to know if Bentham blew the whistle before time or not as there is no clock featured on the scoreboard. I personally felt there was a couple of minutes remaining. Either way, I felt the young lads did really well, in particular, Ben Davies, Neil Holland, Josh Charnley & Josh Veivers.

A lot of pundits have been tipping Ben Davies for great things after last seasons performances and now he seems to have impressed again against Leigh today. Surely this lad should be looking to play at a grade higher than the Reserves? If we were to go off sheer performances in the Leigh friendly and the Wakefield friendly - would Ben Davies get ahead of Andy Coley?

Positives today were the performances of Charnley, Marsh, Walker, Davies (mom by a long way) and a brilliant defensive display from young scrum half Sam Powell.

Disappointed with Liam Farrell (too many handling errors) and Stuart Howarth who's kicking game was very, very poor.

That was just a few, others couldn't get to the game today to bring theirs, should be about 12 in total.

Certain people couldn't make it to the game today so it was just mine and Jimmy Birts flags that went today.

Everyone played well (Apart from Farrell who had a poor 1st 40/50 and then ran strong last 30) but I wouldn't be confident in throwing too many of these lads in at once.

There are 5/6/7 who I wouldn't hesitate in playing/putting on the bench in the event of injuries but not more than 1 at a time.

Being realistic Leigh are a very poor team atm and considering the step up from lower NL1 to SL which is massive IMO I think it would be worthwhile some of these guys going out to NL1 with Leigh/Widnes etc for 3 months spells rather than pushing them into 1st team too early.

Very impressed with the lads today, Special mentions to Charnley, Vievers, Howarth and Davis who i thought were all fantastic and expect too see in the first team a few times this year.

Both teams played well and our reserves wouldnt look out of place in the championship which says alot about the difference between SL and CH1.

One down side of the match was Leigh's fullback Ian Mort i think he's called, we kicked the ball and it bounced out behind the posts for a 20m restart to Leigh, and the ball went behind one of the ball boys who must have been about 9 or 10 and because Mort wanted to get a quick tap he was screaming to this little kid 'GIVE ME THE F*CKING BALL, GIVE ME THE F*CKING BALL NOW' everyone around was looking at him mouths open, cant believe he spoke to a kid like that, typical Leigh chav.

Your lads were very impressive today.

Ben Davies was outstanding (Leyther you see!) and I was very impressed with Johnny Walker and Josh Vievers. The number 2 with the cross on seemed very swift.

Re the end of the match, the hooter went after tackle 1 but wasn't picked up by Bentham and it sounded again after tackle 2 which is when the Touch judge brought it to his attention - if they had scored off the 2nd tackle there would have been some pretty peeved Leythers tonight!

As far as we are concerned the defence was really sound but in attack we couldn't cope with the speed out of the line from your defenders.

All in all you should be proud of your lads and I think we will see a number of them in SL un the next couple of years.

For us we need to carry on with our rebuilding and try to keep adding local lads to the squad.

Whatever happens we must resist the temptation to bring in second rate Antipodeans for a short term fix!
