You are correct, the junior sides do play well year on year. And year on year we have bright prospects not being able to take the next step up to consistent SL performance. I'm not saying he hasn't done a good job with the juniors, he has, but there's only so far 'toughing up and ripping in' will get you in SL. Sooner rather than later superior skill sets prevail e.g. rewind a few years to when Goulding and Falou were 'on the verge', now track their improvements from there. The decline in academy standards also has a part to play but that's another story as any academy watcher will testify.

Short term, like I say we might not have any other option. As far as the culture goes, if the players off field antics are as commonly known as they are by mere speccies, the back room staff must be privvy to that and then some.

Assuming all this is true....

We know have a HUGE appointment on our hands. I for one am happy for IL to take his time and deliver the right man - Wane to take over for the rest of the season (we're not going to win anything anyway so no particular pressure) and hopefully a new infrastructure to be put in place over the close season.

Waiting by the phone as we speak, perhaps IFL has mislaid my number. Still if it is confirmed at least i will not have to put up with just how wrong i have been for the last 3 years or the promised gloating from BK and yourself come our comeback under him at the end of the year.

I agree but whether or not all the back room staff are or were in a position to do something about it is another matter. Looking back to when Dean Bell left there were lots of posts on here about that being down to a fundamental disagreement over young players with Noble. If so then if Bell wasn't able to influence the head coach I don't see why we could expect Wane to do so either.
