You’re embarrassing with this “throw the game v Salford” mantra. I’d hate to play in a team coached by you. Every time you get a sniff of a better team you’d bottle it.
You brought up earlier that this squad has no leaders. That simply isn’t true is it? We have Powell, Williams, Gildart, Lockers, Farrell, Hardaker. If you have such little faith in this team, or this club, why do you even bother?'"
I never suggested we throw the game V Salford.
I was speaking as a fan, 'let Salford have a go' it would be good for the game and there would be no pressure on them. I think they could potentially cause a huge upset and that would be the next best thing to Wigan winning which IMO they have no chance of.
At no point have i ever suggested that Lam should instruct the team to lose the game on purpose.

You’re saying we should let Salford have a go. If you’re not suggesting we throw the game then God only knows what you’re suggesting.

At no point did i say 'WE' should let Salford have a go. You inserted the 'WE' on purpose to make it sound like i said something i didnt.
I said, 'let Salford have a go' meaning that as a fan and in the interest of the game i would like to see them have a go with no pressure on them and nothing to lose.

| I think you'll have every chance if you get to Old Trafford! Why wouldn't you? It's a stage you're used to winning on! I'd certainly give you far more chance than I gave Warrington at Wembley and we all know what happened there!

Who else is going to give Salford a go other than us? Thus ‘we’ let Salford have a go, thus ‘we’ concede the game. We can’t give Salford a go without conceding the game. It’s an easy concept to understand.
You made a suggestion and ever since have tried to backpeddle on what you meant.

No, for clarification what you said was :-
=#FF0040No matter which way around you play them, they will get knocked from pillar to post at Old Trafford (if we should even get there).
[uJust let Salford have a shot at Saints.[/u At least they have a set of forwards that will actually get stuck in and not stand around looking shell shocked as the backs try to make metres.
Last thing [uwe[/u need is to allow Saints some more gloating to add to the 75-0. I cant think of anything worse than a Grand Final drubbing to Saints. I was there when Bradford took us apart in the Grand Final and its a horrible feeling.
Now whichever you look at it I find it unimaginable that anyone could think anything other than you dont want Wigan to get through as we'll get mullered and I dont want to see that.

You talk utter crap, the only way ‘Salford can have a go’ at Saints is if they beat us, and you saying you want Salford to play Saints means you want them to beat us, how hard is that to comprehend?

I’d put him back on the left. His combination on the left edge last season was one of the reason our attack was so deadly.'"
I don't think Greenwood is good enough for this Wigan team, very big forward but never ever runs his weight and his injuries are a worry. I think we missed a trick with Josh Jones, and most certainly last year should of tried more with Matt Whitley. Greenwood as well I imagine will be on decent sized contract. I remember Waney commenting on about him last year that he's not your typical Wigan style forward, absolutely correct on that one.

Totally disagree regarding Greenwood. On his day he’s up there with the best SR in super league, a real handful to tackle due to his size and running style. He’s skilled with a good offload and pass.
Cast you’re mind back to when we demolished Saints at the end of last season, or any game in the playoffs. He was fantastic. Even when younger at Saints he was quality.
What we’re seeing now is a player who’s low and confidence and probably going through a mental battle. He’s had a number of head knocks and needs supporting to regain confidence, once he does he’ll be up there with the best of the once again.

May well have been a mutual agreement for him to take a backseat for the rest of the year. Hopefully in the offseason he can reset and be back to his best next year.

I totally agree with the above.
Even when firing on all cylinders I have never been convinced by him.
Yes he has looked impressive at times but generally he has flattered to deceive.
I think there are 2 key issues with him, and unless something changes very quickly in relation to both these then I fear he will go down as a lad who had bags of potential but couldn’t achieve it.
First one is obviously his body, be it bad luck or not he is picking up too many injuries. He seems to go down clutching something after every drive.
More crucially and I feel it is related to the first issue is his mental strength. I doubt his work ethic or his mental toughness.
It’s interesting a good friend of mine who had a good career in the second row said to me when we signed him how he only really tended to appear in the attacking half of the field looking for the ball.
He noted when Saints were looking for someone to take it off their line he was never really willing to put his hand up.
Not sure when his contract runs out but I think next year will be make or break for him at Wigan. He needs more time on the pitch and a bigger influence over a game.
I also agree Josh Jones would have been a fantastic signing he has all the attributes that we could use to compliment what we have but I assume given our recruitment it simply wasn’t financially viable.

The RL media at the time said we did make him an offer but Hull threw the vault at him. Doubt we'd have signed Burgess as well as Jones.

I’ve never once said we will beat Salford. Read my recent comments and you’ll see I think it is a tough ask but one which I’m confident we can do.
You are literally now making things up Boris Johnson style to make you look anything other than the buffoon you’re trying, and failing to prove you’re not.

But just imagine if you can we beat Salford, big ask, I don't think it'll be anything other than another very tough game, then just imagine we beat Saints at OT, we'll break them mentally for years to come.
They may well finish top again next year but they'll have a horrendous mental block when it comes to finals.
They'll not get a better chance for years, ruining it for them would be priceless.

You say you want to "just let Salford have a go at saints"
You say "you dont want saints fans gloating at you"
How else could that be interpreted?
When someone questions it and says that wanting your own team to lose is daft, and being scared of losing in a final against Saints is no reason not to want to st least try and you go off on one starting that's not what you said.
It gets proved that's what you said, and you now admit that's what you said and now you say that " I dont want us to get through you're right. At last, you actually get it"
Me actually get it!!!
I think your losing the plot pal.
The other day you seemed to have a hissy fit when someone questioned you about not agreeing with Ian leneghan etc.
You said something along the lines of "this is a forum for debate and aren't we allowed to question the club"?.
Well yes, of course you are, but dont then get all high and mighty when someone questions you!
If I see a good comment I'll agree, if I have something to say I'll say it and be prepared to be shot down or stand my corner.
But equally if I see something that I think is wrong or just downright ludicrous I'll call that as well.
What I will say is that your interpretation of "just let Salford have a go" seems to be at odds with what seems like 90% of other peoples interpretations of that statement. Maybe you need to clarify what you mean better.
However it seems crystal.clear to me that wanting Salford to win because your worried about being embarrassed at OT is pretty much what everyone thought you meant, and I'm not surprised that people think that's a little bit, how can I put it, Not right?
Anyway, as someone said.
Crying foul and making out its everyone else's fault is right out of the Boris Johnson/Donald trump play book.
You can say what you want but dont like it when others make you accountable for it, then claim that's not what you said and wveryones against you.
Good luck with that, lots of people can see straight through it.
COME ON WIGAN, let's get Salford beat and have another crack at Them Men.
You never know!
(And if we do lose that doesn't mean your right).

There's no doubting he's a great line runner, that's what he's always had but he's just not aggressive enough, he doesn't strike fear in to the opposition and he certainly doesn't hit hard defensively the way the likes Isa, Bateman, Farrell amongst others have done, Farrell not as hard but Farrells work rate speaks for itself. I can only think of one decent game this year that Greenwood has had, last year he was fortunate that he had Bateman, Isa along side of him to help him out and a much better pack.
Cast your mind back to Saints away this year in the opening fixture, we have a set on our own line and he goes out wide missing defensively. It's one of the many reasons why Saints got rid of him. Very lazy in defence and only provides a couple of decent line runs, they haven't exactly wanted him back since he's left them, speaks volumes for me.
He was a bit of a luxury signing when we added him last year with the quality that we already had and fitted in well, however when the tough gets going, he gets going. Compare that with someone to the likes of Willie Isa, give me a Willie Isa every day of the week who puts his body on the line and hardly gets any credit when we're playing poor and is often an easy scapeogat, (Sam Powell another of the scapegoats when playing poor) his commitment though I would never question, Greenwoods I certainly would.
