A very quiet game from him which is disappointing considering we knew it would be a battle of the forwards. I was concerned when we signed him because Wests fans all say he's no good. As the senior prop from last night he really needs to take a look at himself for letting a 22 year old completely outshine him. I've nothing against us having a 25-30 minute prop as long as he makes a good impact in the time he is on. Hopefully he'll make up for it v NZ and Sydney

Pettybourne and Bowen are good signings, they just need a few weeks to get up to speed.

Can't believe fans are already complaining about Pettybourne,Bowen and Clubb already.Yes Pettybourne had a bad game but I think he may have been injured,he put in some great shifts for the states in the World Cup and I'm sure Wane will get performances like that out of him for us.
Bowen looked overweight but he always has and I'm sure Wane wouldn't let him be out of shape,give him time and I'm sure he will do well.
Clubb was a strange signing for me and I can't see him pulling up trees in a Wigan shirt but at least give him a fair crack at the whip.

I hope he does come good but we need our forwards to at least be hungry for the ball and not as the stats show, 2x hit ups in six sets in his second stint isn't good enough in my opinion

Possibly rogues yes, however Shaun wane quoted before the match that he wanted Huddersfield first game to see how we went against bigger men so I can't see the point in playing wide if he wanted a test up the middle!

Agree but when you look at the stats there was only Crosby of the props who made more than 10 carries, and Pettybourne did make his share of tackles. I'm unsure of how long he was on the field though.

I may possibly be doing the guy an injustice then, maybe i concentrated on him more because he was the "new guy" I do trust Shaun Wane's judgement though and as everyone has stated, its early days yet.

Pettybourne played a total of 31mins had 5 carries and made 22 tackles

One game, think I will reserve judgement here.

Pettybourne was hardly alone in an a very poor team performance and Im confident that once the team gel we will be a force this season - especially when you include O'Loughlin, Charnley and Mclorum.

The problem for SW is that we don't really have much time given the WCC game which we need to win.

Its interesting that we were linked with Larne Patrick though which indicates that SW wanted to add something to the forwards before game one.

Statistics aside - we were well short of aggression.

I'd be more worried about the mediocrity elsewhere in the pack. Dudson, Hughes, Crosby, Flower - not one of them stepped up to the plate on Friday. Taylor outplayed them all on one leg!

Ben Flower made 40 tackles, hardly anonymous!

As with most of those players on Friday night, they all had other things on there minds and 1 foot firmly on the plane to aus.

Not professional i know but there attitude and mental approach just wasnt right and was visibly noticeable. I am suprised we didnt come away with injuries if i am honest
