How's the weather in Wigan, BTW. I'm on a bit of a mini- tour trip on the bike, currently in Aberystwyth, but planning a stopover in Wigan Thursday night. Am booked into a hotel on Wheldon Road in Castleford for Friday night, right by the Jungle, so that should be fun!

I'll soon be eligible for over 60 prices......... I don't know whether to laugh or cry!!

When you buy tickets from some clubs eg. Wigan, Warrington you can laugh. Some other clubs eg. Leeds, Huddersfield and the RFL you can cry because they use 65!
However, before I turned 65 I might have "accidentally" bought the cheaper ticket!

Yesterday I was at the Centre for Alternative Technology in West Wales (I'm on my hols), and as I walked up to the ticket office, I saw it said, Adult admission £8.50, over 60s, £7.50.
I thought to myself, OK, I won't say anything, I'll wait and see if he asks me how old I am.



He didn't. He just said, "£7.50, please".

Swings and roundabouts..... I always looked older than I am, so was never ever refused service in a pub from age of 15.....

Yeah, when I was 15 I had my regular local with my tankard behind the bar



But as my son found out, things are much stricter these days.

Does anyone know why we changed from blue & white to cherry & white at the end of the 1800s? According to the history books the Leythers were first to use cherry & white hoops (from the Leigh coat of arms apparently - although the timeline is a bit fuzzy), just wondering why we effectively nicked them off them.

I mentioned here some long time ago last year about thinking about moving to Wigan. Well yesterday I had an offer on a house in Wigan accepted!

Is the Fantasy Rugby and the predictions that used to be run on here dead and buried for good now, thought I read somewhere last year that it may return this year, but since we are close to the start of the season I doubt it will be happening this year either.
