He may not be the thickest set lad at the minute but he's going to be huge. He's tall and has enough bulk on him to cause the problems he does and he'll become more of a handful as he gets bigger.
Superb propsect infact superb player already.

Mine too. His was the interview in the match program and it asked him about the prospects of a top side in Cumbria (he reckons Whitehaven and Workington ought to merge) and all I can say is being totally selfish, thank God there isn't one right now for him to play for!

| I think fielden and mossop will be our starting props with lima and coley on the bench. People may say what about prescott, I think his hamstring injury may have come at the wrong time for him to be honest.

I would put Ben Harrison in front of him due to consistency of performance over a longer period.

Harrison is a good player, but he comes up with way too many errors and is a bit suspect in defence. Maybe its cos he's a prop playing at LF (imo) but he misses wayyyyyyyy too many tackles. Mossop just doesn't.

Harrison is in effect a prop playing loose forward in a similar manner as Paul Gallen does. It is the way Warrington have been set-up since Smith arrived.
I understand about the missed tackles but I think Ben does put on more "big hits" than Mossop, I remember him killing Fielden last year at the Dave Whelan Stadium. I like Mossop but have yet to see him dominate a big set of forwards, everytime he has played against Warrington he has been dominated and I think retired injured on two occasions.

Last season its a bit unfair to talk about how he went off injured twice, he had big shoulder problems throughout the entire season.
I haven't seen him dominated by any pack this year.

I'd beg to differ - I reckon Warrington's pack dominated him (along with the rest of Wigan's pack that night) earlier this year. Did he not go off injured in that game? I thought he hurt his shoulder and missed at least the next game.

But double the number of offloads and tackle breaks (in less games as well apparently).
Probably reflects Warrington's mentality of high-risk, entertaining rugby against Wigan's high-percentage, high pressure brand of rugby. The two contrasting styles promise at least two more titanic matches this season.

I agree with the last point re two or more games, but missed tackles and penalties conceded have nothing to do with the styles of rugby, more of a technique/discipline issue.

| Both Harrison and Mossop have the potential to be two very good England international prop forwards in the future. Harrison does miss quite a few tackles playing in the back row and his mobility isn't great but he offers plenty.
I'm not sure how accurate comparing the stats of players in different teams is though. I mean they can depend on minutes played (not included in the SL stats), the hooker they play alongside (many have contrasting styles), the manner in which they are used (e.g. crash ball a yard from the defensive line or being given the ball deep for a long run up), amount of kick returns (kick offs and drop outs provide lots of metres).
Stats are useless unless there's lots of context to go with them, and between players from two different teams it's not very accurate.
Suggesting Mossop isn't as good as Harrison because Mossop was 'dominated' in the game against Wire doesn't make much sense. It's a team game and if no other Wigan player was making much impact there's little chance of Mossop doing so. If he has to do a lot of defensive work it would limit his ability in attack, that goes for every player.
It also depends on the hooker. It would be much easier for someone like Harrison to dominate against Wigan playing alongside Monaghan that it would be for Mossop to dominate against Wire during a poor performance playing alongside Mike McIlorum.
Mossop has been excellent this year and has been the most dominant forward on the pitch on many occasions. He might not put many big hits in but that's because Wigan's style of play doesn't give much opportunity for big hits from prop forwards. The smaller, faster forwards rush out to wrap the player up quickly.

I don't think many will disagree with that.
Lee Mossop for me is just so consistent in his game. He'll take the ball up, rack up some carries, eat up the metres and find a quick play the ball. In defence he makes plenty of tackles, plenty of marker tackles, rarely misses and is very disciplined with and without the ball. His discipline both in terms of errors and penalties is very impressive.
The most encouraging aspect of Mossop from a Wigan and England POV is that he is only in his second full season (his last cruely ended through a shoulder injury). Ben Harrison on the other hand is in his third or fourth season with Wire.
Both are two excellent players, but out of the two I would definitely much rather have Lee Mossop. I'm sure Wire fans will beg to differ, but Mossop's discipline alone pushes him in front for me.

| His stats aren't that impressive..... we need forwards with a bit of x factor at international level, and he doesn't put in big shots, doesn't offload and doesn't make huge metres, good against average SL teams but nothing special.

Yes, I did see that - was just exaggerating a little. I noticed you copied my 1-2-3!
