Bolton are playing Hibs in Jussi Jaaskelainen's testimonial on 8th August so, a week before the Premier League starts, I'd be very surprised if it hosted the game. That, and it's too big anyroad after the crowd when the two last met. Don't forget that the Stobart has been expanded since that semi as well.

2004 aye. In fact it was the exact same draw then with Wigan v Wire at Widnes.

would have thought RFL would want one semi in yorkshire, the huddersfield semi is the obvious choice.

Would probably take above an hour for Huddersfield to get there as well and, with few neutrals from the local area, I can't see that one. Only reason it was so well-attended at Donny last year is because of Wakefield's proximity to the M1 and, well, nowhere's near Hull



Again, in 2004 there weren't any Yorkshire semi finals - they just haven't got the 12-18k sort of grounds that you need for the semi finals.

The att in 2004 for the same fixture was 11,175
so with the capacity at Widnes now being 14k it meant be a good bet it will be there

Its the biggest game of both clubs for years and who knows the next chance either team will be this close to Wembley?

The RFL should grow some stones and market the game and go for a big crowd rather than rely on the die hards and play it safe at Widnes which is easy.

It is.....you could treble header it MM style and have another outstanding SL fixture that weekend.

The RFL would make a mint and so would Manchester.

Its the Eng v Aus Ashes test at Headingley the same weekend as the semis so there's no chance of it being there.

I thought about a double header but to me the City of Manchester is too big even if they make the tickets pretty cheap.

In a perfect world you'd be looking at a ground thats a decent distance from all 4 clubs that holds around 30,000.

The Reebok would seem a good option but somebody mentioned they have a freindly there on the Saturday so it'd have to be Sunday( if at all with it being so close to the start of the Premiership i can't see them wanting a rugby match on it).

That in itself rules out all possibility of any games at the Reebok, Eastlands etc etc. One at Widnes, one at Warrington.
