West Stand capacity is over 6,000 so those figures don't include the number of corporate sales. Which should add on a good thousand or so

The Super League record? No - not only because this game won't sell out (probably looking at around 21-22k) but because Wigan won't ever break that record of over 25k because of capacity restrictions since enforced.

The only club that I can think of who are logistically able to break it is Hull.

Unless they do a game 'on the road' between Wigan-Saints or Bradford-Leeds at either Anfield or Elland Road

Is that all? I thought St Helens had 180,000 pop? Or perhaps that is 'greater St Helens'? (Including far flung places like Ashton, Billinge, Newton and Rainford)

I believe Leigh/Atherton/Tyldsley/Astley to be 37% of Wigan Metro at the last count!!

Population of Wigan MBC is 301,000 but that includes Leigh & Tyldesley etc
The popultaion of what we would all call 'Wigan' i.e. the town itself and it's suburbs like Hindley, Orrell, Standish, Shevington, A-in-M is around the 200,000 mark. You can work that out if you check the census figures for those suburbs and add it to Wigan.

and alot of St.helens' is Newton-le-willows who mostly support wire, so you could argue it any which way, but i'm fairly certain that Wigan town is bigger than St.Helens
