| Joking and childish games aside
It would be a fantastic signing for Wigan if he did come over. He would add experience and is a very creative centre and could add an extra dimension to our attack. Plus he can also cover at stand off pretty handy as well.
I hope the four year contract that has been thrown about is rubbish though. We could land another Fielden if we run that risk. A two year contract with an option for another year.

Agree 100% there mate
Quality centre who would bring the best out of Roberts IMO
Big, strong, creative centre who isn't the slowest either is exactly what we need, the fact he's english is even better
2 year contract with an option for a 3rd would be the perfect deal IMO

| Our backline would be pretty intimidating for next season:
Pat Richards
Amos Roberts
Martin Gleeson
George Carmont
Sean Ainscough
With Karl Pryce coming off the bench for impact.
If we could get that all important prop forward and maybe a scrum half and allow Tommy to move to nine and McIlorum to go out on loan, I might be doing a Wire and say 2010 the year of the Warrior!

I think Pryce could do with a few months loan to a NL1 club to get some decent game time at a tougher level
I think we will definitely get a prop forward for next season, eventhough we need 2 IMO. Luke Bailey or Petero Civonaceva are the 2 that stand out to me.
Doubt we will get a SH for next season
Richards
Roberts
Gleeson
Carmont
Ainscough
Sam
Tommy
Prescott
Riddell
Bailey
Hansen
Lockers
Tomkins
Feka
Hock
Fielden
McIlorum
Mossop, Pryce/Goulding, Farrell, Eamon, Davies as back up
Brian Smith as coach
That would make me ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

| I'm not so sure Pryce needs to go out on loan after seeing him in the reserves. He looked very sharp and looked like scoring every time he got the ball. He got a hat trick and could have had four but was unselfish and set Josh Vievers up instead. Also created a try for Ian Thornley IIRC.
His critics have been of his defence but I can only find faults in his defence from when he has played on the wing and the defensive errors are characteristics of a winger. Like being out jumped for the ball or out paced from a kick. Nothing that would be required of him if he was played in his preferred position at centre. Considering the lad has been out of the game for 2 years I am suprised how impatient fans are with him. He will be a great signing for Wigan sooner rather than later.
Back on the subject though at prop forward I would like to see us go for Andy Lynch. I think he is the most realistic signing TBH. Although I am not sure that he would leave Yorkshire. Rumours have it that he wants to go back to Castleford. Should he decide to do this I would for for Luke Bailey. Either way a rough, tough prop forward is a must.
A scrum half doesn't seem likely I agree. Michael Dobson is a name mentioned (scored a hat trick today) but he is contracted till 2010. Matt Orford and Darren Lockyer have been mentioned. Both would bring experience to the side and would compliment Sam well but wouldn't be here (you would think) for more than a couple of seasons which would mean a change in halfbacks again which the side doesn't need.
Does anyone know the situation with Richie Myler? When does his contract run out?

If Pryce doesn't go on loan he will have to stay in the reserves for a few more games till he looks truly up to it because he didn't against Salford IMO
Andy Lynch hasn't got the leadership qualities that we are so badly lacking so I would go for Luke Bailey too, he is a fantastic player, great leader and near enough the definition of a house prop
Dobson maybe for 2011? I would love that
Myler's contract runs out at the same time as Dobson's I think

I agree he didn't look up to it at Salford. But we will see an improvement from him no doubt. We just need patience and to give him time. The Barrow game we should be looking to play him at centre for 80 minutes.
Andy Lynch has all the qualities we are missing in terms of go forward but it depends what you mean by leadership. If you mean lead our go forward then he would certainly be able to do that. If you mean take some of the leadership responsabilities away from Lockers then I would agree.

I mean true leaders because we haven't replaced Fletcher's leadership nor Barrett's and Bailey is the only real leader left that we have and it looks like he'll be gone by the end of the season too.

I know i've mentioned it in posts before but next years recruitment could be one of the most important in the clubs history.
We’ve almost got the right team assembled and just those three signings you and others have mentioned will drastically change our fortunes imo.
We can either go one of two ways next season;
A- IL finds where he’s hidden his cheque book and gets the three top draw signings we are crying out for and we take massive leaps forward as a club. Our young players finally get to play with the kind of the players the youngsters at Leeds and Saints do. We’ll not only have another good centre to share the attacking duties with Carmont but we’ll also have a SH who can get us into a good field position on the last tackle and take a hold of a game and control it in our favour like Burrow did against us at Leeds. Add to that a house prop who will not only be a handful for the opposition but one that can lead us in winning the forward battle we always seem to lose. Imagine the confidence the likes of Prescott, O’Carroll and Tomkins will have knowing someone like Mason or Petro have their backs when they are going out there to play!
Or
B-We can continue to try to pull a rabbit out of the hat by signing injury prone/drunk/rejects from SL or the NRL. For every Carmont you get you also get Coley, Phelps, Smith and Mathers who don’t work out. If we continue down the road we have been going down for years now the following imo will happen our crowds will tail off, we’ll never see the best out of our youngsters and we’ll eventually end up in mid table obscurity looking for the one or two big scalps a year!
We need to get It right next year big time.

I'll agree RE Dobson
I think we have not only missed his leadership but his size and presence in the back row has been sorely missed IMO
Not to mention the way he used to get on the end of so many grubber kicks for tries ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

Top Quality player but would cost a fair bit of your cap money. I'm sure he wants to do a Lockyer too and move into the halves (I think he played a couple of games at 7 for Brisbane)

| Signing Myler sounds good but him and Tomkins at halfbacks in reality would destroy both of their confidence and careers. If we are to throw a young player in the mix they have to be partnered by an old experienced player
Eg -
6-Tomkins
7- Orford/Kimmorley
4- Carmont
5- Ainscough
8- Fielden
10- Palea'aesina
14- Lynch/Bailey
15- O'Carroll/ Prescott
You cant have a team of youngsters because when the times get tough and an experienced head is needed there is none and their confidence will drop and they wont want to play.

Excellent ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif) although on the footy show I think it was either Trent or Hindmarsh said he's the best forward in the world, so he'll have to really want to come to the UK if we've got a chance of signing him.
Get rid of Fielden and give him his wage. Sorted ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

Yes it was Hindmarsh who said it (he's not doing too bad this season either ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif) )

Everything I have been told from this source has been right before whether the deal gone through or collapsed at last minute, I didnt want to post it incase it fell through like the Lee Smith signing last season or the Pirtek sponsorship but when it was posted as a rumour I then posted what I had been told.
