In all seriousness though any rugby league fan would praise that preformence tonight. It was full of guts, heart and class. They worked as a side and got their rewards.

Special praise for Sam and Joel Tomkins, Coley, Hansen and Flanagan but especially to Phelps......i thought he was outstanding at the back.

That was a really enjoyable match to watch and your guys were outstanding in the second half. It was great to watch some cracking rubgy league.

We've got loads and loads of injuries and I'm sure at least 10 of our players have swine flu .... (just getting the excuses in early!

Ive been saying this for ages. He is so underated. He gives 110% and is already one of the best attacking fullbacks in SL. His kick returns are superb and hes deceptively strong running into a tackle. The way he chimes into the attack really excites me. He has a lovely pass and a very good RL brain and can spot weaknesses in defences. Carmonts try was down to Phelps great thinking turning the ball back on the inside and Sam Tomkins try was created by that great kick return by Phelps when Leeds looked to have him corned with about 4 men after him. Add to all that hes always supporting. Whilst his defence is ok it still needs to improve as does his abilty to catch bombs but if he can improve those 2 things then he can become a Wigan great for many years.

You won the battle but not the war.





Congratulations for tonight’s performance. No excuses for Leeds Rhinos complacently of only playing games in patches rather than the full eighty like Wigan did tonight.

Phelps is useless according to the bloke in front of me.



Mossop & Flanagan deserve a mention tonight, they "manned" up in that second half. If Mossop adds a bit more weight he will be awesome, doesnt half charge the ball in.

Flanagan led the charge in the first 20mins.............i thought he was outstanding in that period especially.

Mossop had his best game since coming back to Wigan tonight and took on an experienced Leeds pack causing them plenty of problems.

I said at the game to my mate if Bailey is fir for next week it'd be Bailey in and Fielden out for me with Mossop being used solely at prop.

We missed Bailey in midfield tonight, especially in the first half.

Phelps is getting better each week and had his best game in a Wigan shirt tonight. Added an extra dimension at the back by being able to play as an extra half giving us far more options in attack, especially on the kick plays.

The most exciting part about him is his desire to improve for Wigan and secondly himself. Got a Brett Dallas like love for the club and it shows.

We missed him slowing the play the ball down bigtime!

I thought at 10-0 his absence was going to kill us because their play of the ball speed was hammering us.

Indeed, he seems to be 'Wigan through and through', rather like a certain Mr. Dallas as you say! Did you notice how he was making the decisions to take the 2 points towards the end of the game? Doesn't seem afraid to step up to the plate and take some responsibility either. We need as much of this in our team as we can get, rather than laying it all at the skipper's door. I've said in the past the great sides of the past had several plyers willing to share the responsibility.

phelps was superb last night. my mom.

excellent game all round. very impressed with the variety of 6 tackle plays.

when SL is poor, its generally 5 tackles and a kick to the wing on EVERY set, but tonight was a feast by both teams.
