I agree, but you never know.
It wold be one hell of a challenge for the guy - an opportunity to really put his money where his mouth is and create in Britain the style and standard of play that he always insists we lack.

| Gavin Henson reported to be interested in playing for Celtic on sportinglife.
Not saying we should but do you think we should have a go at bringing him to Wigan?.

If he can't handle the training/expectation in RU, why would he be a success in RL?
I would not want to see him at Wigan.

let him be a failure at Celtic
very few RU players would be able to handle RL, thats why you see so few making the switch (although wages have something to do with that as well!)

Seems the same going in the other direction as as well. Faz, Henry Paul, Vainokolo, Hape all international league players who made no real impact in union. Apart from Tiquiri and Robinson most RL players going to union have struggled.

Both games are more different than people think, a good player from either code cannot just walk into any team in the opposite code and do a good job. I have heard people say that Jonny Wilkinson would walk into any super league side and be the best player in the world
O'Driscoll is the only one to honestly convince me he would be a good player in league.

| Well I personally would hope that if Henson did move to Celtic he could not only lift there profile and the profile of Rugby League, but he himself could make a success of it and who's knows he could even be a future GB with a bit of luck.

Thats the only reason I would want him to move there. Everyone in RU would know about it especially everyone in south wales. No matter who they were playing, they would get a massive crowd for his first game.

| Ryan Bailey seems to have fallen out of favour at Leeds.
Would he be a good addition to the squad?
IMO yes, but I'm guessing many will disagree with me.

Yes as we are in desperate need of a prop and whilst Bailey isn’t a world beater by any stretch of the imagination he’s a good SL player.
An more involved role will probably suit him better as well

| Bailey is a thug not interested in doing the standard things a prop has to do. He doesn't run the ball in strongly or regularly and doesn't work that hard in defence.
He's no better then what we've got right down to O'Carroll and Prescott.

Sorry i have to disagree with you Ryan Bailey is a penalty machine (lots of hands in dirty play and high shots)and we already have 2 of those in Fielden and Coley. I really dont think we need to give away more penalty's than we do now. Maybe for next year and let Coley go but not in addition to them.

| Was watching Melbourne Vs Cowboys last night on DVD and couldnt help but notice how good of a player Shane Tronc is and what a signing he is for Wakey (if rumours are true) he is always looking for work a true workhorse and takes the ball up strong and hard. He also does plenty time on the pitch something that Feka cannot do and imo we have missed out big time in not signing this guy.
It is blatenly obvious we are in much need for a prop forward and when a good one comes allong in Tronc we are not even in the mix to sign him.
I also took a much more detail look at Carl Webb, Jeff Lima, Antonio Kaufusi all players that I think would do the job for us over here
Lenegan needs act fast teams like Saints, Huddersfield are all looking for props and If nobody is signed up now I can see us going into 2010 with the same set of forwards we have now.

| Kear has all but admitted they've signed Tronc so he's totally ruled out for us.
Going off what i hear of his form this season thats a huge shame.
We'll be left with the dregs again without doubt.

Yeah your right, Kear has been quoted bu many that the deals more or less been agreed its just the finishing touches that are needed. I think a previous poster were correct in saying that Phelps, Coley and Bailey will all get extensions.
I'm personally still very doubtful that any signings are going to be made for next year and in fact if what were hearing is correct and Noble has been given a 1 year extension till the end of 2010, then it backs up my whole idea that Lenegan is going for a big one in 2011 with a new coach and signings. Where that leaves 2010 is I suppose down the toilet.

Believe me if nothing much is happening for 2010 then 2011 will be much the same.
Lenagan promised some big signings for 2010 when he took over yet doesn't look like delivering and i doubt his policy will change much for 2011.
We'll continue to sign 'chancers' and promote youngsters. I totally agree with the 2nd bit but without good players to play at the side of they'll not get to a level we'd hope.

| Lee Gilmour has signed for Hudds, good signing IMO.
Leeds have signed Jay Pitts from Wakey.
