Maybe its just me but i'm not conviced with his coaching record. Ok, he led Saints to the SL title in 1999 but hasn't coached at the top level since and the game has changed a lot in the last ten years.

He only spent 1 season or so at Saints and left in 2000. The only other coaching he has done was to spend two months or so at Cas in 2004 before leaving, and one season at Doncaster in NL2. You could argue that he led them to a playoff win last season, but it was NL2. In total that's only 2 full seasons coaching in the last ten years.

Don't get me wrong, the man is a legend and one of the best ever to play the game, but i don't agree that he's the right coach when in my eyes, he has very little coaching experience.

Coached for 2 years and won 2 grand finals, also to Donny to northern plant pot final.

The guy is a legend and ooooozzzes discipline.

Carmont yes, been a superb signing for us.

Phelps, seemed lost in the side, but now has he's found his position, he's settling greatly into the side.

Riddell and Roberts are both developing slowly, Roberts has got better and better over the games this season, and Riddell has started to show his leadership form the DH position.

On the Gleeson fornt, what has he done in his time here to warrant him being a good signing. TBH I expect far better from him in the future.

On paper Mathers wasa superb signing. Just didn't fit in! and he's now showing at Wire what he could have been like.

Some of those signings have done well.
How have IL's prop forward signings done?
That has always been our priority and was 2 years before he bought the club.
On a different matter, someone on Radio Manc said Wigan were impressed by what McRae had done at Salford and were looking at him as our new coach.

He's one of the worst coaches out there imo. His constant appointment sums up everything that is wrong with SL coaching recruitment as he’s pretty much failed since leaving Saints and got laughed out of the NRL but yet he walks straight back into a job in SL??????

Honestly if McRae is appointed the coach of Wigan I’d have very serious doubts as to whether by love affair with this club would be over there and then.

I can name 10 coaches not including Noble and even Wayne who are far better than that fat bast@rd and I’d even go as far as to say I’d take Milward back before him as he’s just a god awful coach imo

Noble can stay for me, can't think who'd come here who would be better.
If IL can persuade Phil Gould as coach with say Matty Johns as his asst then OK I'd go with that any day.
Gould BTW has said he'd like to go back into club coaching.
If Noble goes than whoever replaces him has to be proven to be better, otherwise it's pointless replacing him.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but I've just been reading th Daily Express or Daily Mail in't butty shop and it says a deal to bring North Queensland Cowboys prop Carl Webb to Wigan now hinges on how he gets on with a drunk & disorderly charge.

I thought it was a drink drive charge he was up on, nearly certain in fact. Sometimes think that the newspapers just put 2+2 together using poor research and rumour and come up with 5.

He is but was being made available to free up cap space so they could re-sign Tronc and a couple of others. I think that given the fact Tronc has signed for Wakefield NQ will not now be as willing to see him go, which is why i guess this is just lazy journalism and echo's of rumours that were floating round here a few months back.

Would not mind seeing him in a Wigan shirt but in my opinion it seems unlikely, could well be wrong though.

I would love Gould to come to Wigan but his stating he would consider a return to club rugby a message, put out in public, which will put the Roosters management under pressure.
As if the're not under enough already.

I would seriously doubt Gould is referring to English club rugby given his views on the game over here.
