That's a bit harsh. To be fair to TOW, I wouldn't be too impressed if there was someone at the match wearing a ski mask. It gives off the wrong impression. We want to be known as a group that goes along to support our team, not to overtly intimidate others in that way. It just smacks of the Italian football hooligans that have hijacked the "ultras" ideology to suit their own violent agenda.

I don't condone anything those so called wire 'fans' have done over the weekend, i don't see any need for it in our game and that is the reason i raised my concern on a thread about the brigantes, as he appeared to be a member given where he was stood.

But it's okay, sweep it under the rug and ignore it the intimidation factor of anyone wearing a skimask in public.

Agreed, it does not belong in our game, and as many of you have pointed out before, you aren't about hooliganism, just sheer support (which i applaud), but when someone wears a ski-mask it smacks of hooliganism and shouldnt be condoned at all.

Was it definitely a Wigan fan? Wigan shirt or anything? My guess is it's probably one of those that come for the big games and don't really care about the bad image they give of Wigan fans to everyone (as proven by your post)

I didn't see anyone with a ski mask on, but I did see several Wire fans making "come on" gestures towards the general Wigan direction, they looked like hooligans.

not sure about shirt, but it looked like last years away shirt, black with silver? anyway he was stood in front of the irregulars banner, so i'd guess he was wigan with it being a cherry and white skimask,sort of where's wally-esque. Agreed though, there is no place for it in our sport, if only some of the other wigan fans agreed like you and conroy rather than dismissing it as nonsense like the muppet above. As i said though, you boys/girls really sang your hearts out that day and what an atmosphere it was so congrats, just wanted to point out how it could seem to kids, women etc. Not really great to be associated with as a unit of brigantes/ultras etc.

You wore a cherry and white scarf and sang, sometimes very loudly. At one point you swang the scarf above your head. I was intimidated

Maybe you should concern yourself with the 100 or so wire 'fans' or 'casuals' as they liked to be called waiting outside the kings head pub for a fight rather than one person wearing a ski mask. Never before have I seen fans have to be protected by police and police dogs at a game until last saturday.

p.s i was stood near the irregulars banner all game and post match during the celebrations and never saw a ski mask.

Indeed, not sure if it's the same pub or not but the crowd outside the pub opposite Central station was far more intimidating than someone wearing a red and white striped mask. People in glass houses etc etc.

Where have i condoned the rubbish behaviour of some of our fans, i dont' agree with it. But it seems that you are quick to moan about trouble when it happens, but not so happy to listen when someone raises concern as to a member of your fan unit provoking such behaviour with his clothing. Some of you can see why it would be reason for concern, obviously the rest of you are too biased to think anything like this could happen at wigan.

Also, someone was quick to say they werent wearing a wigan shirt so not a wigan fan, but alot of those idiots outside the kings head arent wearing warrington colours, so how can you be sure they were our fans, not just lager louts out for a fight after seeing the local rivals beat us. Also, i notice there is no-one fighting but just standing outside a pub?

What alot of people don't see is the Brigantes/Ultras whatever you want to call it was started by a group of fans who wanted to bring a better atmosphere to our games and through sheer hard work and determination are making that happen.

Alot of work still goes on behind the scenes and away from games to look after the flags, put them up take them down, sort it out, official meetings, unofficial meetings, alot of folk forget this and think its all about a p**s up at the game and jump on the band wagon.

Keep jumping and singing and waving cos it's ace just lets not forget there is more to it than that.

The police car in the pic and the the policemen and dogs in the King's Head area I saw upon leaving the ground would suggest the police at least were worried about trouble and were taking preventative action. Anyway, carry on trying to deflect criticism away from Warrington, you're doing quite a good job.

Answer to point one, the south stand, which is full of warrington fans including myself, is located next to the stand in which you were in, which made it pretty easy to spot this mug with his ski mask.

A suggestion of trouble between two rival supporters, surprise surprise, police turn up at all sorts of things to prevent trouble, doesn't mean there was any.

I am just using the same spin doctor tactics you've been applying to anything i said, and it seems you don't like it when the shoes on the other foot. I do not condone ANY violence or threat thereof, whether it be from so called warrington fans, or so called wigan fans. Seems you're only bothered if it is a warrington fan that is making the accusation, pretty sure if a wiganer had raised this issue you would all be saying how terrible it is in our game. The more you post, the more i think the idiot was probably you or one of your mates, seeing as how your so quick to dismiss it.

So why comment on ONE fan in a crowd of over 13,000 (the majority of us didn't see him).
