He's only played there 3 times this year. That definitely qualifies him for playing 13 Internationally doesn't it.

I think hes a good player and I've always rated him, but as a centre. He's big and good in defence which is what we need against the aussies and kiwis, plus the fact Reed has committed means there's no need to have Shenton for them to run over!

Charnley should be nowhere near England yet. Defence is still woeful.
Ryan Hall and I'd probably even argue Ben Jones Bishop should be ahead of him. And thats without mentioning any of the Hudds boys.

| Sam is a 6 surely, i mean he played 6 before he was switched to 1, therefore he's a 6 right?
Again i'll ask what did you think of his 'THREE' performances at 13? i'll open it up to you too Wigg'n.

I think Charnley and Reed is a mouthwatering prospect and should be tried out, could be a centre/wing partnership for many years. Fair enough he has parts of his game to work on but his defence certainly isnt woeful. I wouldnt swap him for either Hall or BJB at Wigan.

still tugging at that?
just stop, bridge is not an option at 13 for england just because he's played a few times there in a game against salford where you've scored over 50 points.

| The fact is no one is saying replace SOL, they are saying 'another option', the other fact his non of you guys have actually seen him play there but KNOW he's rubbish there ??
Sometimes completely by accident a player is moved in to a position to cover injuries and all of a sudden you realise "Sh*t why has he never played that position before"?
Bridge can tackle, he his very strong and can brush players off and burst tackles for fun, he's also deceptively quick.
I'm not having a hissy fit, I'm not defending a Wire corner, i just want to talk rugby, i think Lockers is the best 13 in SL i also personally believe he's the best player in your team, i said this months ago and was ripped to pieces by all these 'knowledgeable' wigan fans, then a few weeks later the 'greatest' manager in SL said the same thing and i watched the thread in which you all kissed his backside and agreed with him ?? A Wire fan can't say it and im wrong yet Madge says it and "yeah he's right Lockers is brilliant"

I'd have BJB in a flash. That lads something special, even more so than Charnley in my opinion, who I also rate highly.

| If this was American football, i'd have Charnley in the Attacking squad all day long but god his defence his poor.
The Oz/Kiwi machine will target his wing all day long if he plays for England.

www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2011
Not having a go or anything as it's all your opinions but Peacock isn't as bad as what anyones making him out to be. Still averaging well over 100m per game and improving every game.
As for the question earlier about whan he last had a good game...
Player: Metres - Carries (MT/Carry) - Tackles - Misses (Efficiency %) - Errors - Penalties
Peacock: 158 - 21 (7.52) - 37 - 0 (100%) - 0 – 1
This was 4 days ago against top 4 team Huddersfield.

Yeah he's different class. The only way charnley will play before bjb, hall and Briscoe is through injury.
We now have a group of centres in bridge, reed, shenton and watkins who are all extremely competent, add in atkins too who although has been pathetic at the W/cup has certainly turned a corner. Then there is a choice of 3 to 4 wingers who can also do a job.
It's been a long time coming but things are looking up.

Those stats are better than when he was at his best. If he keeps up a similar workload through the play offs then he'll have certainly earned his place in the 4 nations.

That's how it should be. It's a mistake picking players on past glories.

| Peacock will be picked if he continues his current form, those stats are outstanding.
Bridge will not play 13. He's played 3 games there. Even if he was the best player on the pitch in those games, it doesn't qualify him to be played there for England when SOL and Sinfield have played there all their careers and excelled. I would also have Langley ahead of Bridge, and possibly Ben Harrison, though his form hasn't been that good this year.
Charnley is behind another 5 or 6 wingers and will have to be extremely lucky with injuries and coach stupidity to be picked.
Those are my views.

| Tomkins
Hall
Bridge/Yeaman
Reed- This man is a beast, glad he chose us over Aus
Briscoe
Id prob opt for Reed and Bridge to be honest, as this is there natural centre position.

| Looking at overall attacking and defensive ability I would have to go Briscoe and BJB after seeing that. Hall is very good with ball in hand and a great 1 on 1 tackler but as a Leeds fan I know that he loses concentration sometimes and lets his opposite number get on the outside of him, as seen by his tackle efficiency. I added Broughton to the list because he seems to have had a good season from what I have seen and in a year or 2 of 1st grade week in week out his stats should be up there.

going off those stats would have to agree.
Throw up some Centre stats that would be interesting too.

You don't even need the stats though, Briscoe + BJB (along with Charnley) are our best attacking wingers, all 3 can create a break and all have that spark and pace. Unfortunately though, Charnley can't defend. Hopefully he improves that area of his game, or has a season with an actual centre inside of him to see if thats part of the problem.
I've said in all of these threads Briscoe + BJB, but if McNamara wants to play it safe Hall will be in for BJB.

If I have time before work I'll do some centre stats. The winger ones only took me 25 mins or so.

| I hope you've applied the NRL factor.
If you've forgotten it, you times the Tries/assists/metres/carries/busts/breaks/tackles by 2. And divide penalties/missed tackles and errors by 3.
That gives the true value I believe.
