The thing is I really don't care about the result one bit - my initial reaction was ah damn it we threw that away but hey it was a good game and a good performance. Loosing in finals bothers me as does losing in knock out games but I stopped getting het up about league fixtures about 10 years ago....as long as Leeds are playing well and finish in a decent play off place I'll be happy.

What you can't fathom is that I'm a Rugby League fan first and a Leeds fan second and the reason I'm so p*ssed off about sh*t like Lima's challenge is that I think this sort of stuff (including chicken wings etc) is a stain on our great game - we're talking about the toughest team sport in the world and we don't need players putting "undue pressure" on joints or driving his shoulder into the side of a players leg to cause injuries. I live in the Yawnion heartlands and this sort of thing really does put people of our game...they used to have similar issues with "excessive" stamping and racking but to their credit they've made a real effort to clean it up.

I'd hope everyone would agree that they like to see hard but fair play. I certainly don't want playmakers targeted illegally or taken out unnecessarily. That includes Tomkins.

FWIW I didn't think either side played that well (although for Leeds it was a major step up from where we've been so far this year), and neither side was particularly dirty. Niggly yes, but that's up to the ref to police.

Anyway, Leeds have the panto villain of Bailey (maybe Cross will join him) and Wigan have Tomkins and Lima. Every side has them.

) I really didn't think it was that bad, it wasn't untill Clarkson fell awkwardly that it even looked that bad. It does seem that the rfl are trying to outlaw that tackle and so technically the yellow was right, although I'd argue that Lima hit the thigh and then released. Had it been a shoulder in to the knee and had Lima not released when Clarkson went down then it would have been much worse. IMO challenges like that don't even compare to the likes of Abletts assault to Sams head in the league match last year, let's put it into perspective eh?!
