yep the certainly did special trains in 2004, I was heavily pregnant so chose this as the better option for loos etc. I pre booked seats only to find eight widnes fans sat in them. I politely asked them to move and they laughed at me and swore. So off I went for the guard who also laughed at me. So i went back, knocked all their cans of ale on the floor and perched myself on the table. Eventually after me being a pain in the derriere, one of the guys (who was a police officer) got up and gave me his seat. My kids laid on the floor all the way to cardiff

Flying Edinburgh to London £54 return and that includes an all day london Transport train / Tube pass . Even on Easy-Jet you are guarenteed a seat (you might have to fight for it ) on Virgin trains or the like you are guarenteed nowt at twice the price and more , even if you have pre booked seats as LLL has pointed out .

The 30 minute train takes about an hour and 15. About the time it'd take a rail replacement coach there.

1) it says leaving platform 4 !!
2) it shows a train symbol.

hence, the confusion.

It said on the notice on the station that replacement coach travel would be provided between Wigan & Crewe via Warrington implying the coach makes a stop at Warrington - an hour and a quarter is about right to get to Crewe by road - I ended up doing that for the UEFA final.
