| Quote ="DaveO"I think people need to be a bit more realistic about what Pryce offers to the team.
From about 10m out he backs himself to score and he more often than not does given a decent pass. He also can score some tries that need scoring from that distance.
The rest of the time? Not convinced.
For a big lad he makes few meters when taking the ball out of defence. He goes down really easily. As a winger I just can't see him scoring a try longer than the previously mentioned 10m.
I would like him to be the winger he's supposed to be but for me he just does not offer enough.
Dave'"
Dave I'm not sure if anyone has ever told you but generally you attack for 50% of the game and defend for 50% of the game.
While Pryce has been defending on the wing nothing has come down that side of the field. Pryce went off, and guess what, we leak a try.
Go figure.

The abuse he is still getting from the stands is disgraceful.
Anyone who watches Melbourne play will know that we dont need wingers who do anything but finish from 20yards, as the rest of the play is about opening up the space for the walk in try's. That is a typical Rogues post. Was he the only reason we conceded that try?

Firstly if you rate Vainakolo as a defensive player we cannot agree.
I care not if he scores super tries, does he need to?
What he needs to do is take the chances he is offered and stop the opposition which he is doing.
He gets a quick play the ball involves 2 or 3 players in the tackle and takes his chances.
I wonder what era people think we are in when a player is scoring over a try a game and not letting them in and is still slated.

| His overall game today was better than both Roberts and Richards in my opinion. Just because he doesnt run past all 13 players twice and score from 90 yards out doesn't mean he's a bad player, he performs his role in the team well. If he's fit for next week, i'd definitely play him.

| if your talking about quick play the balls there is nothing wrong with goulding, it took pryce 15 minutes to come in for his first touch of the ball, yes you look for your quick wingers to score a great try, goulding also is also good from 10 metres and has come on leaps and bounds in his defence, it was laughable today when he got injured, if you watch it back they attck his side, tomkins tries everything in his power to stop flannery and pryce just watched, that pretty much sums him up

Goulding has still struggled in defence positionally, he also has a poorer return/game.

I am not firing cheap shots at Pryce. He can't break a tackle to save his life when running the ball out of defence and he's huge. What's the problem with him here? Calderwood probably made more meters doing that than Pryce does.

He might not be Billy Whizz or Brett D, BUT The guy has scored ELEVEN tries in SEVEN games!
FFS!!!! What more do you want a winger to do?
Less than a season ago, i bet you were the same people that were whinging about our wingers never getting a look in.
Get real.

Your initial quote shows how out of touch you are with the game.
If you take 2 or 3 players to the floor you do damage every time.
Why do people hold his size against him?
He generates yards, takes players to the floor finishes his chances and lets few in.
If you expect another Jonah Lomu its not going to happen. I'll let you into a secret professional players can defend these days.
His strike rate is immense, his defence is good, what more do you want?

Absolutely spot on.
I have no idea what the hell people expect these days. He makes decent metres, and is taking 2 or 3 people to cover him. His defence is solid, and his strike rate is excellent. He also brings the ability to score trys that no other winger at the club could score, like the one today. In addition he has great technical skills, as evidenced by the flick pass to Carmont (in a lot of other games that would have resulted in a certain try).

Better than what I see. I can't actually believe you think he is that good given you profess to be (I believe) a student of the game.

Why on earth has KP got protected status on this message board over the past few weeks?

My one problem with KP is that he should have killed Foster, yet he went down like a whore.

Maybe because he's actually playing pretty decently, not the '' that some people try to make out. And did I say it was the be all and end all? I also said his defence was good, he made good metres, and it took 2 to 3 to cover him, his overall play has been sufficient to warrant his place - hence Maguire keeps picking him (who clearly must be just as wrong as me and others)
You only ever read what you want to Dave and quite frankly it's beyond boring. If you don't agree with me, Jonh, Rogues and others then find that's your prerogative, I'd honestly never expect you to give ground. Just don't be surprised when people actually call you out on your posts.

He did 'kill' Foster for his try. Foster took out his legs, like any smaller man should, when Pryce flipped it back inside for Carmont.
He's not the perfect player, but he gets far too much criticism on here. He's a good player.

I don't think he makes that many meters when he carries the ball. Falls down at the first hit more often than not.

Here we go again. Make it personal. Why not.
Look, it's dead simple. I don't think Pryce is that good. Why do I need to be "called out" for expressing a different opinion to you or anyone else? WTF does being "called out" mean? You are right and I am wrong? It's not as if I don't say why I disagree with you.

| Credit where credit is due but Pryce was cack. Ive never seen such a big guy go down so quick in the tackle. One time where the ball went over his hed he was running back towards east stand with his arm out just hoping it would hit it He should of scored a try in 1st half as well in the corner but was way too slow, Goulding Richards Roberts even ainscough would of scooted in for that.
Watch Tommy have a run with the ball and then watch Pryce do the same, you would be forgiven for thinking they had swapped bodies.

| I thought some of Pryce's best work was actually done within our own 40.
He was coming in looking and hungry for work & doing a job of a second rower taking short balls off acting half back and first man. I don't think there is another winger in Super League who can run as strong & as solid as a backrower when looking to get out of their own half.
Again, he looked dangerous out wide and we did seem weaker when he went off.
What's pleasing is there seems to be a postive consistancy with his performances over recent weeks and his enthusiasm to come in for work is something many wouldn't have expected.
Fully warrents his spot, I just hope he stays fit.
