How is the NRL boring?

Its not,its a complete myth.

The NRL doesnt look as fancy as their defences are much tougher unlike super league were the defences are so poor that its a lot easier for teams to score fancy looking trys that look good when in reality most of the fancy trys scored are the result of poor defence.

This fact is highlighted when GB meet Australia and the Aussies score some lovely trys wheras the British players who are used to playing against poor defence cannot do it when faced with a tough defence.

If you think SL is genuinely more entertaining then your kidding yourself,its an illusion due to the poor defence.

It just shows how big the gap is between 1st/2nd at mid table (which is probably what we are).

We need some forwards !

This isn't about Wigan, or Leeds, or any other SL team.

This is about the state of RL in the UK.

It is very very poor, and the blame for this can be placed firmly at the door of the CC.


I can assure you I feel absolutely no pleasure in being proven right over the last 3 years.

NRL is so in front of us oh yes, over the past 6 years how many times has an English club won it? hmm let me count im sure its 5-1 to the English?????? If you want to bum NRL and its so superior players to Superleague just don't watch SL nobody is making you. im sure the majority of people are content watching the rugby they do.

The NRL is light years ahead. The ptb over here has slowed this season, which is a positive step. Regardless of Cunningham et all bleating about it.

Defensive structure will always win the trophies, which is why we are so far behind.

Lets not include the WCC in this, cause we all know Manly were the first side to really "put in" since the Roosters did Saints a few years back.

The sour grapes on this board is unbelievable, just becuase Wigan are not winning everything every year, and because 3/4s of the England team is not made up of Wigan players you and the rest of the bitter "the world hates the Cherry & Shites" brigade have to blame British RL as a whole. And it precisely this attitude thats holding you back. You need to stop living in the past and move on.

Well they were on the scoreboard, and thats the stat that counts. I'm not saying Leeds deserved to win and Manly weren't top class on the night, but to say Leeds were embarrassed is way off the mark IMO.

embarrassed? some might say that.
for me leeds were dragged around the field at points and were caught chasing shadows.
rather than have a dig at leeds for that, id rather ask you to take a look at super league.
leeds are officially (and in my opinion) the best team in the country and they didnt come close to manly in many areas. im really worried that we'll all forget just how superior the NRL is and come the 4 nations we and the french will get smashed.

I've been thinking about this, and you have to remember this same Manly team battered a (arguably) all-time great Melbourne side 40-0 in the NRL GF. Manly are far and away the best team in world rugby (either code IMO) Most other teams would have taken a far bigger beating and to lose by 8 points isn't anything to be ashamed of.

With regard the 4-nations as long as we're competitive and we blood a few young players a chance I'll be happy, and I know we've said it year after year but I expect big things from England within 2 years.

Oh, and I'd rather we beat Saints next week than in the cup.

Tonight was simply about how poor Wigan are.

Watching the Bronco's Cowboys game today both teams had bags of "kids" on debut who would walk into the Wigan side, and much of the Leeds side.

Brett you can talk cod sheeite all you want but the standard to coaching in the SL is garbage, Leeds are worthy of a spot in the NRL as are Saints, everyone else is miles behind and its not down to the playing rosta.

Why?? One loss to Saints probably won't change our position in the season. If we lose in the cup we only have 1 trophy to go for.

Why is it a different market though? The salary Cap doesn't affect the standard of players being brought through, or the standard of coaching being provided to these players. Look at the Superleague for just one example, when is the last time a side coached by an English coach won it?
