| Shop in the Grand Arcade would be the best as people wouldnt plan on going in but when there walking past it, they will be tempted to go in for a look and possibily spend abit of money.
The shop can be responsible for many things such as...
Merchandise sales
Video (Micron?) of past matches/seasons etc
Coach Travel booking?
Maybe even away tickets, as im sure the "Saints megastore" does that in the town centre of St Helens.

| Quote ="ROBINSON"Tell you what, lets ignore all commercial merits and keep the old lotto agents happy instead.
That's crazy.
Why can't the lotto be run from the JJB in one of their undoubtedly very secure offices? Or even if it does move to the 'new' club shop, what's to stop the lotto agents going there? it makes zero difference.
And if the club own the existing shop, great. They can make £150k by selling it. Or £10k a year by renting it to me.
'"
1. a lot of agents would find the JJB hard to get to, therefore losing agents
2. i dont think you appreciate the amount of revenue the agents bring into the club.......thats why the club go out of their way to keep them happy
3. why not keep the lotto office going ....its also an outlet for tickets for those who cant get to the JJB
4. new shop selling merchandise ......brilliant idea......but lets have the shop concentrating on merchandise and not lotto agents paying in as well. Keep the 2 things seperate.

no.....but how do you expect public transport users to go down there??
tbh..if they had to fork out extra bus fare the job wouldnt be worth doing with what they earn in commission.

let Gordon run his lotto in the present building, and lets get somebody in the new shop who knows the retail trade.....simple.

They'd get the bus like they did before, what else would they do?
What a load of rubbish. There's virtually no difference in price to get to Tesco, than to get the Robin Park on the bus from virtually anywhere in Wigan.
As I said before, if you're happy with a rubbish shop in a rubbish location, with rubbish staff, then go ahead. You're in the vast minority though.

No. Having them both in the same building will mean that less is spent on overheads, such as rent, rates, heat, light... You may as well get a pile of £20 notes and set fire to them, as have two separate buildings.
No reason why they cannot have separate offices within the same building to look after their own thing. It's what the majority of businesses do.

they do.......its called a curtain seperating the room in the middle
re your previous post........im not in a minority, i want a new shop as well as the rest.
warriors world could carry on doing lotto, tickets etc, and rent out the bit they dont use..........ie the front bit that used to be a sweet shop...or run it as a seperate shop selling sweets, with profits going to the club.
THEN GET A MERCHANDISE SHOP.
if both shops make money wheres the problem??
your getting peed off cos im peeing on your fire and stopping you flogging/renting a propertty to the club

Even better have the entrance leading into the bar/museum but have to exit via the shop as per Disney / Alton Towers style selling photos of your visit!!

| The Baa idea is excellent.
TBH anywhere in the town centre or Robin Park would be good.
The current location is great in terms of parking, thats all.

I was thinking they could close the upper levels at night but keep the ground floor bar open. I'd go in there for pre-King Street beers at weekend if my money was going to the club.
With a museum upstairs, you could charge £2.50 adults £1 kids and probably get back a couple of grand a year easily.
Good location with people getting off trains and walking up Wallgate into town.
£40k a year, get your wallet out Mr Lenegan

Actually that's a good shout re the access, depends on stairs/disabled access but either would work. Irrespective, would like to see something like that.

| I actually think this is a belting idea - not sure about the costs - the 40K p.a. is fine but its sounds quite an expensive re-fit I still do think it could work well.
It would double as a great meeting place for those away games you can't get to that are televised too.
I've thought myself about similar plans for Saints certainly since the ground development was given the green light, for the club to have a combined themed bar / shop type outlet within easy walking distance from the town centre should work well.

| Ive been in the shop today, it was like a bomb had hit, they had obviously got a large delivery of stuff but they had just ripped open the boxes so there was clothes and boxes literally blocking off the 'corridor' section were the best bits are. I had to squeeze past 2 women sat on the floor in the middle of the mess. I just thought to myself imagine a Tesco or a proper high street shop was organised like this. I picked up a T shirt to buy but after the women pi$$ing about for so long and not looking like they could be d serving i just left it. Worst shop ive ever been in by a mile.
