I think it would have to be looked at in two years time. If his two years where up right now, and I was in charge, I would test him fitness wise (with the view it is up to him to be fit enough, I'm not going to give him a contract if we have to get him up to fitness) then give him a reserves contract for a year or let him go based on that. He then has to prove himself all over agian. If he is a different player after the year and isn't up to it, then its a small wage on a player who we all know has the ability to win us games, if he can return to where he was two years ago.

I think thats how I would deal with it.

Like I said in my earlier post, it's a shame such a talent will be lost to RL for at least two years even more so knowing he'll probably struggle in the 'outside' world, without a coach and 12 other team members around him.

Its important if hock want to come back he needs to do a Hudson and work in fitness!!

At the end of the day, pal, it won't make any difference what I say. When this has all blown over, Hock will still be a young bloke with a big house and a huge wad of cash in the bank. You, on the other hand, will still be Sgt Wilko, the Leeds fan who spends most of his time posting on a Wigan message board. You figure who's the sadder.

The question is though, will the club go to all that trouble if the players in the team in two years time are performing well?

I doubt that there will be any shortage of teams willing to offer him a nice large contract when his ban is up. Everyone knows that he can be a gamebreaker on the pitch and it is up to the people in charge at wigan whether they want to sign him up again or not bearing in mind that this is one guy that will be able to come back and make you regret letting him go. We have to make these decisions now though as how the club approach this issue now will determine what he decides to do in 2 years time. Personally i would like to think the club would try to help him through this time and then try to reintroduce back into the game if all has gone well once his time has been served.

I think they will support him and I have heard a few rumours from within the club that they will.

He will get his punishment from the RFL and the club will be hoping he has learnt his lesson.

Its not all doom and gloom cos it means we can use Hocks space in the team to give Mossop and Farrell some chances. When Hock eventually comes back it hopefully we will have a much stronger squad. Hopefully the young kids will be more experienced and becomming stars in their own right with a small mix of some decent overseas stars we could be in with a chance of challenging in 2011/12.

I think next year we need to bring in a prop and a halfback and develop as many young kids as we can into positions all over the park.

Actually he doesn't have a big house (not a tiny one though). I almost, unknowingly bought the semi detached next door to his house...he was trying to sell it and has been for 2 years or so though...wants far too much for it mind

At the end of the day mate hock is miles sadder than me as he has just been kicked out of job for having no brain!! Where as I just get on running my own business as I've done for the best part of 10 years since I was 22. I probably don't have as much money as hock but I like been my own boss. By the length of time I've been posting and the number of posts I have I don't post a alot compared to most! And I defo don't spend most my time on here and if I am on here it's because you and others are having a pop at Leeds !! As in this thread which went from been about gas hock to Leeds rhnos been a bunch of coke heads!

I have tried to read through most of the posts on Hock to see if a decision has actually be made by the Rfl. Been on Rfl site still can't see anything. Didn't he have his B test done yesterday. Anyone enlighten me. Sorry if I am being dim and this has already been covered.
