Let's not beat around the bush, he's coming off a record breaking season and that's pushed his value up above and beyond his current deal. If you wanted to keep him then match the offer Wire gave on his wages. If you couldn't do that then sell him.'"
Based on that theory, we should be halving the wages of the Tomkins brothers, neither of whom have ripped up trees for their high salaries.

Still crying over this
We reconfigured existing player contracts, to backload them into future seasons - in turn freeing up space in the 2006 season to sign Fielden. No rules were broken (the same practice had occured previously in the NRL even). Lots of crying ensued and the RoFL made up a rule to punish us. The End.

I think Kelvin spent to many evenings in the pubs and clubs of Cas with mams of Cas fans. It's the only rational explanation I can come up with. That or the other alternative rationale is that we really are the club of the devil.

Yes thanks for that "reconfigured" did that include Radlinski coming out of retirement for the remainder of 2006's, playing for "no fee" to aid the team during their personnel struggle.

| I'd like to look back on how we responded to 2006:
Noble steadied the ship.
New ownership.
Concentrated on youth development.
Brought in an ambitious assistant coach from the NRL.
Topped the League.
Won Super League.
Won the Challenge Cup.
Replaced coach with Wigan born assistant coach.
Won Super League.
Won Challenge Cup.
Another couple of seasons just missing out as Champions.
Won Super League with half a team, made up of young Wigan lads.
How have Cas done since 2006?

| Is anyone aware of what the current level of funding provided to clubs by the RFL is? This is always going to be a significant portion of revenue for the clubs and until this increases on a major scale we'll always be one step behind.
The next NRL funding agreement for example is muted to be around 130% of their current salary cap (currently $6.1m) per season. Are we even in the same ball park?

| 2016 the game Wigan won and the ref was that bad Cas fans stated he had been removed from SL the following week, it never happened.
Super 8 game Cas win and the ref is that bad he is removed from SL the following week, but not a peep out of the sister lovers and their coach
Personally I don't like the move that Solomona pulled, the club don't deserve that and it could set a dangerous precedent, that they can somehow blame Wigan shows how bitter their fans can be.

| Most of the animosity from other clubs like Cas Tigers toward Wigan comes from your total disregard of anything other than yourselves. A typical example been the stunt you pulled this week with the "bus trip" to Sale Sharks.
It's OK to point at your success been the factor - but take a step back and think. Why are you the most despised club in SL ?

The irony of it all. You accuse Wigan of looking after themselves when sides like Cas, Wakey and a few others have kept the cap so low it is now the cause of yourselves losing you best player. You have done nothing as a club to combat it. You lose 1 player due to your own inadequacies and it seems some blame Wigan for it.
To give clubs like Cas a chance to compete with Wigan, Saints, Leeds, wire etc we have lost Sam T, Joel T, Faz, Burgess, Jason Robinson and a few more. Seriously you need to looking at why your owner did not use the marquee cap space to keep Solomona.

I think the SKY funding is £2.446m pa. which is also about 130% of our salary cap.
In The RFL's annual report from last year ( media.therfl.co.uk/docs/RFL%2020 ... Report.pdf) they say that distributed funds are at their highest ever with unprecedented financial stability.
Yet clubs still can't pay our players what they deserve.

SL clubs have all benefited from youngsters coming through the Wigan system. If it wasn't for Wigan (and Saints and Leeds) bringing players through, the game would be in a damn sight worse state than it is. We don't expect thanks, but a moment's reflection wouldn't come amiss.
As for the bus-trip, that of course was pre-planned months ago. Yes, the timing is unfortunate, but we're not fortune tellers. Do you really think we'd deliberately set ourselves up as the big bad bogeyman, just to annoy Cas fans?
News just in: the world does not revolve around you!

I don't agree with them going but can understand why as part of the "tour" they decided to go ahead with it as they wouldn't have been able to get a change of venue at such short notice.

Because we are the to dogs, past, present and future. And the best most small clubs can hope for is to pick up a meaningless league win against us.
Regards,
Typical arrogant Wiggin fan.

| Teams like Cas, Wakey & Huddersfield bring nothing to the super league party whatsoever . They are like leeches just sucking the life juice from the game but give nothing back in return. Cas own ignorance is the reason that they are in this position, they are taking legal action knowing that they can't win, ala Bradford bulls and the iestyn harris saga and we all know what happened to the bulls after that.

You answered your own question-Success!
I must admit though I've never quite got the hatred from Cas fans towards us. You normally only get that level of animosity from local rivals or teams your challenging for trophies against so it seems strange that a team from the other side of the Pennines who haven't won anything since Jesus was a lad dispises us.
I'm with Cas all the way on this issue but I must admit attitudes like yours do make a small part of me chuckle at the situation. If the boot was on the other foot a much higher percentage of your fans would be revelling in it.

| Having attended the Cas Super 8's game as I walked away from the ground you would have thought they had just won the World Club Championship the way the majority were singing and dancing in the streets whilst antagonising any visible Wigan fan wearing colours. It was embarrassing.
I'd just like to say well done on your two points that day, at the same time I can smugly sit here knowing we are current Champions.

I'd be interested to know what teams do bring something to SL?
Perhaps you would prefer four or five teams playing each other every week?
Cas couldn't give Solomona what he demanded and stay under the salary cap. Nor should clubs be held to ransom by players who have years remaining on an existing contract.
You'll also find it was Leeds Rhions who persued legal action against Bradford. Just look what happened to Leeds after that.....
In answer to another poster, I'm not sure I'd describe the attitudes of Castleford fans towards Wigan as hatred.
However, Wigan are my least favourite team for a few reasons:
1. The seemingly deliberate tactics aimed to injury opposition players by targeting the knees.
2. Shaun Wane's arrogance and some of his comments about Castleford.
3. Sam Tomkins' immature and childish behaviour.
As such, I enjoy beating Wigan more than any other team.

If the quality of rugby was superior then i would rather have five teams play each other four times a year than to have standards constantly dragged down by other clubs who's only ambition is to merely survive. My point regarding Bradford was that as a result of legal action taking place it left the club broke, but if Cas want to go down that route then it is their prerogative. As for your comments regarding the hatred towards Wigan, again this is a forum and its your opinion however the points you make really do sum up everything about yourself and your club.

1 Wigan player faced a charge for that all last season. Now I might have missed something not certain but the only charge for that for Wigan was TT against Leeds.
For Cas Ben Crooks against Wire applying pressure
Andy Lynch against HKR applying pressure
Matt Cook against Wire applying pressure
Those I feel are upto the Super 8's starting last season. Now tell me who needs to get their own house in order first before coming on here spouting off your whiter than white. As I said all sides do it your just blinded to what your side does. Can not remember another Wigan player getting banned for applying pressure to a joint in the Super 8 though maybe we can call Flowers one to Patton's nose but it was tame compared to what Chase did in a Cas shirt 2 or 3 years ago.
