| Quote ="Omar Little"What is so hard to understand...Lima drove his shoulder into an already held players legs, he makes no attempt whatsoever to make a tackle with his arms (as shown in that freeze frame he's dropped his "tackling" arm to drive in with the shoulder) - there is only one outcome if his technique (I shan't call it a tackle) had come off and that is a very very serious knee or leg injury.
As someone said on the VT, Lima could really have done pretty much anything else and it would have resulted in a completed dominant tackle without a penalty
It doesn't matter if Clarkson's leg is standing or if the first contact is above the knee - the intent was to cause injury and there is no need for that in the game. It was an absolutely cowardly attack.'"
Get over yourself. There was nothing wrong with it. The ref only noticed because Leeds had yet another of their tantrums to order - a bit like the end of last season, when they all ran in to try to disguise the fact that McGuire had injured himself while blatantly taking a guy out off the ball.

Ah yes, I remember that - clever how Piggy Riddle ran in and stood over McGuire to "disguise" how he had injured himself...oh wait which team did Riddle play for...

That is not what happened at all.
The whole Wigan team were seriously out to injure McGuire. It was a horrible assault in my opinion, the complete fault of the whole Wigan team, it was a disgrace, Wigan should not have won the title last year because all of our players should have been banned for that.

Yeah ... standing next to a player is the worst kind of assault you can commit.
So now we've got that and your mind-reading act with Lima.
Any other gems you'd care to share with us?

Indeed. You obviously clearly don't understand what constitutes a held player. Here's a tip, if the player is still moving and the ref hasn't called
held, as what happened with Clarkson, he isn't held.

| Quote ="SaintsFan"It was the same in that Shenton went in third man to the side of his leg when it was in a standing position but Shenton wasn't quite as forceful. Still, since apparently the RFL is now targetting dangerous play with sinbins, it's a good idea not to practice dangerous tackles, and driving in hard to the side of a player's leg when in a standing position is a career-threatening move. I doubt Lima will get a ban for it. The RFL judged Shenton as sin bin sufficient, so that should be the case with Lima also.'"

And you are just totally missing the point, but never mind I knew I wouldn't get any sense from anyone on this forum. You can carry on with your pathetic arguing over your teams excellent tactics and every other teams cheating to be able to compete with you (that's sarcasm if you didn't get that either).

Ok bad choice of wording on my part he was not "Held" but he was "held" - i.e. he had two players holding onto him so was unaware and vunerable to the player coming in with the cheap shot from the side....now please try and re-read my post again without being minded to misinterpret my point on technicalities.
"Held" = as in ref calls held, tackle over.
"held" = being held onto (i.e. "held" in the same respect as Mozza was (i.e. defenseless) when Cassidy lost the plot and tried to break his jaw)

I blame Lima for not knowing his punctuation prior to going into the tackle.

| I have read page 1 of this thread and can't be A**** reading anymore, but i can't for the life of me see why Lima is being castigated , every lad who plays RL from U7's is told 'tackle round the legs' , even if a player is held by 2 defenders if his legs are free tackle him to prevent him driving forward, it's one of the first things kids are taught..Lima went into the tackle to prevent a player moving and ended up being sin binned, what a F****** joke

Don't worry about it - it's the fad of the new season. No doubt the brainchild of some jobsworth at the RFL.
Like all the previous ones, they'll persist with it for a few weeks, then gradually realise how unworkable it is and casually start to forget about it.
In the meantime of course, the likes of Lee Briers, Jon Wilkin and the entire Leeds team will try to milk it for everything they can.

Whichever version of the word held you want to use, he was still moving when Lima joined the tackle, so it's not actually a matter of "technicalities"' it was simply the fact Clarkson was moving forward at the time. Lima clearly tackles around the thigh initially and falls down.

For the jobsworth read Mrs and Mrs H.
I believe Mrs H has now officially complained about last nights referee.
Their pillow talk must be something to behold.

FFS what is it they put in the water in Wigan?
Did you even read my original post
F*ck it - you must be right...no Wigan player ever transgresses the rules whereas a hint of a push from McGuire is the worst offence in the history of rugby...this place makes Redvee look like the a home for the open minded intellectual.

Congratulations, mate. You've completed a hattrick.
We already know that Leeds lack dginity in both victory and defeat. You, and others like you, have today managed to prove that they lack dignity when they draw as well.
Over 24 hours have passed, and you're still whingeing on the Wigan message board.
Sorry, but you didn't get the two points. Now man up and deal with it.

| For all the Leeds trolls a simple question: What did you think of Peacock's attack to Sam's head and Senior kicking out and cutting Joel T's head in the CC QF last year, neither of which was dealt with sufficiently ( ie no sinbining or subsequent suspension) as well as Ablett almost taking off Sam T's head in the league game at Leeds in July - again ignored by Ganson ( who then sinbinned Coley for an alleged late tackle on Burrow thateven Eddie said was wrong), although Ablett was subsequently suspended.
The bottom line is Lima tackled Clarkson's leg - not his head!

Before I respond can you tell me which version of the word "held" you want to use this time so we're all clear when your poor whinging is pulled apart yet again?
I've no idea what they put in the water in Wigan as I pay my water bill to Yorkshire Water. Fortunately it looks like the reservoir I get my water from doesn't have the mercury problem yours obviously does.
