When has anyone said they wouldn't be? I expect it to be very close this year between Saints, Wigan + Wire.

I was merely responding to your completely blinkered claims about the ability of some of your players.

If I am being honest you guys are the team to beat,no doubt.

Again let me respond to this Getting man of the series. He was injured in 09 and had a good series again in 2010. If he has only had one good season, how did he manage to get a call up to England for the LF role, before Wilkin & Sinfield? And you failed to point out any facts that would back up your claim that Wilkin is the better player.

And as for Farrell, you keep saying 'Time will tell' but fail to explain why you feel Dixon is the better Player/Prospect

If he had a valid honest opinion, I wouldn't agree but i'd st least respect his opinion!

Give over, for my money he was better in 2009 than 2010 for starters, he's been picked regularly at international level since '04 and is consistantly at the top of our tackles count (top tackler every year since he became a first team regular in '03 except for '05 and '08 when he missed loads of games through injury) and pretty high on the metres count. Oh and as for penalty machine, let's have a look how many they both gave up last season:

O'Loughlin - 19 pens 24 games (0.79 per game)
Wilkin - 26 pens 16 games (1.63 per game)

If Wilkin had played a few more games last season he would have walked it to the 'most penalised player' title.

In all honesty at this moment in time I would say it's too early to judge who will win the title. anything could happen during the season. You could lose a host of players through injury - who knows.
So perhaps the biggest threat to the title you are holding would be yourselves.

It's stupid, inaccurate and immature to keep throwing "year of the wolf" jibes about. It was funny 5 years ago when we promised much and delivered very little, but we have been very successful the past few seasons. Get with the times, and acknowledge another teams accomplishments.

Do you really believe Deacon is on a par with Pryce?

That is the type of thing you would expect to see written in excrement on the walls of a cell in a mental asylum.

although they are very different types of player, i would have to say that Pryce is/has been a more of a game breaker than Deac's. A bit of a one trick pony IMO, but a game breaker none the less.

However in the current Wigan setup, Deacon is far, far more integral to the game we play. TBH where would we play Pryce?. likewise there is no way that Deacon would get in the Saints side.

Can't really compare the two, as they're very different players. Deacs admittedly doesn't have the individual skills of Pryce, but he's a much better organiser, is more consistent (even Saints fans admit LP "goes missing" in games quite often), reads a game better, and has a far superior kicking game. As tuggles points out, he fits our scheme a lot better than Pryce would.

I certainly wouldn't swap them.

Seriously? Deacon in his pomp maybe but not now. I'd have Pryce all day long!

The key factor for me is Deacs' medium/long kicking game - something that our other halves have struggled with recently.

I'd agree, but the basis of this discussion is who has the stronger side, not who'd fit into our system better, and there's no question Pryce is a better player these days.
