I wouldn't call it love. I think a better description would be that I hate the low-life dirty cheating meatbag because he's a blight on the Greatest Game.
Yeah, that about sums it up.
So what's your excuse for being so obsessed with me?

I'd be disappointed if he got more than a match ban given I've seen much worse this season go unpunished. Consistency is the problem - Peacock put in two similarly mistimed attempts making contact above the shoulder in the cup game and got away with it because of who he is rather than what he did.'"
And who he plays for imo

Nothing wrong with that if you ask me. it was a disguised play. If the guy dummies and Mossop doesn't hit him he's through the line and away so what is he supposed to do? Stand still and wait for the opponent to make his mind up about what he wants to do with the ball?

Mossop hit him well after the pass and if you want to use that argument you could do so for the Catalan challenge on the kicker. I think that the referee treated both incidents in the same way which is fair enough imo.

| The fact that Coley was sent of should help his case. Had he stayed on no doubt that would have lead to a longer ban. Hopefully he'll just get a fine and one or two games with us appealing if it's the latter and winning that appeal.
Either way if Coley is missing against wire and we do happen to lose I'll be blaming the loss on his absence.

I was under the impression that the rule is different for a player kicking. That's the reason given for Faz getting binned in the CC quarter final IIRC

Not Obsessed with you, I just see on Topics that you always comment on Keiron, the fact that god knows how many other people have commented on this suggests that your obsession has got way, way out of hand!
Is that the reason you hate him? Or is it maybe because he's been at the top of the game for many years, and you have seen him lift countless trophies? Much like us Saints fans hated the likes of Edwards, Offiah e.t.c.

| It was a red card without doubt imo. It wasn't a real bad one and was more careless then anything else but he had to go and will probably be looking at a match ban of 1 or 2 games.
Hopefully it's only the one as we really could do with Coley being available to take on Wire.

| Can't say I was surprised that Coley got the red card. I have seen worse, and they have stayed on the field. But no complaints from me. Probably get two matches.

Those high tackles would have been 'penalty only - if that', back in the 80's.
I'm sure someone like Rogues will tell us that they wouldn't have even claimed a penalties in the 60's and 70's.

| maybe Matty B, but in the early 90's there was a massive clamp down on the high tackles to erradicate them from the game completely with 12 and 15 match bans being dished out all over. Didn't Platt or Goodway miss most of a season through such a ban? Later they reduced them to 8 and 10 match bans which I'm sure Cowie and Skerrett succumbed to. Someone with a better memory than me will surley confirm bits of my vague recollections. The point is tackles like that have been unacceptable for almost 20 years and a straight red was the right decision IMHO.
Unfortunately the child in charge was picking and choosing which of the fundamentals of the game he was going to clamp down on such as playing the ball with the foot, whilst some of the interference at the play ball would have been penalised at the start of the season. It's that old c word again...

Well Colin Tyrer had all his face smashed in at Wembley in 1970. I could be wrong, but Hepworth wasn't even penalised at all.

Absolutely right. Interesting thread this. We have 1 Wigan fan saying there was nothing wrong with it and the rest agreeing that it was a bad one. For what it's worth I think it was a bad one, but more due to Coley being out of position than anything else. He realised he had done wrong straightaway and apologised. He'll only get one game.

| I don't think it was a red as there was no intent. Scott Moore i think it was last night had a shot with both feet off the ground that was worse. Yellow and a penalty would have been right. I will be amazed if it attracts more than a 1 match ban.
Child i feel was ok, made a few mistakes, but overall was alright. Feel he is one of the better refs.
As a matter of interest and it has no bearing on tonights game, but in the play offs in 2008 in Perpignan, Child was the linesman and Bentham as the vidio ref. It was the game where Ganson has his equipment hanging out the back of his shorts according to Stevo.

Thread synopsis for anyone who can't be bothered trawling through 9 pages of it. ^^^^^^
Interesting how you get a Wire fan who's not living Warrington being one of the very few who talks any sense. Must be something in the air/water in Warrington.
FWIW I thought Child was distinctly average tonight. Didn't get too much wrong but didn't do an awful lot right either. The red card however was spot on. There was no malice involved, it was just a lazy and poorly executed tackle. (It may well have even just been down to plain old tiredness. I can't imagine Andy's had much sleep this past week!!)
I'd hope, for the sake of common sense, that the sending off is deemed sufficient. One game ban at absolute most. Any more and the RFL disciplinary panel are just making it up as they go along.

| When I first saw it I said that he will go for it, it was a bad one. I think that the sending off is sufficient but I wouldnt be surprised if the RFL banned him for 2 games.
However what annoyed me the most was the late tackle on the kicker (Deacon) that we got a penalty for, but that was it. Has the rule changed since the last couple of weeks, because I thought it was an automatuc sin bin?
All we ask for is consistency, I'm not saying that Farrell's sin bin would of made a difference in the CC v Leeds, but all I want to see is the same outcome everytime, whether it is for or against Wigan.

| Definite red, but so was a certain England captains two weeks before the France game . All we ask for is consistancy in refereeing .
Saints man taken out by bailly after a kick on Saturday , penalty awarded , no yellow .
Deacon taken out after kick yesterday , penalty awarded , no yellow.
Mossop " takes out " Mcquire after kick , penalty awarded , yellow card
NO CONSISTANCY .

| My jaw dropped when i saw it so i knew it was a bad one! It was a red imo but its the inconsistency again what makes peoples blood boil. If its the same rule for everybody then there wouldnt be so much moaning. Child was , he gave them penalties for everything at beginning of 2nd half to try and even the game up. How could he give a penalty against Joel for stripping the ball when he didnt even touch it? How can he see something that didnt happen?
