The difference between us losing Long and Wigan losing Farrell is that there are enough players still in the side that have experienced big games and know what it takes to win trophies.
When Wigan lost Farrell, they'd lost a number of players around the same time that were the last of the players that were around during Wigans glory days such as Radlinski (I can't remember the exact timeline of Wigan players leaving lol). Once they'd all gone, as there'd been a period of lack of success (I do appreciate that you'd got to GF, but for the most part you'd got there battered and always lost) the team lost that culture of success.
