Basically, it doesn't matter how good our discipline is - He'll find an excuse to penalise us to death deep in our own half and then level it up by giving us a few penalties on our own 20m line.

It might be wise if Madge makes a point to the media that under Bentham we've suffered some dubious decisions. It's about time we apply some pressure of our own to the referee's.

If Madge make's enough of a fuss about it, a lot of eye's will be on Bentham forcing him to make sure all the calls during the match are fair. It's probably the best we can do to ensure were not hard done by.

Was just thinking this myself, if we made a fuss about only losing games when Bentham ref'ed he'd be under some pressure. However I don't think Madge is that kind of coach.

As much as i am inclined to agree, idont think he should.

MM is beyond all the whining and seems a very credible man to me.

It would be better if the team just get out there and HAMMER saints around the park whilst cutting down the stupid pens.

Saying that though there is nothing stopping us lot form giving the ref some grief!!!

Phil Wilkinson in the Observer said that for every game we have lost this season, Bentham has been the referee. Can anyone substantiate this?

Either way, it has never been clearer that Bentham HATES Wigan.

I don't think Madge should moan about it, lets get on with it and prove we are the best team.

The pen count will even out anyway but we always seem to get pens in the wrong positions. The other team usually gets them when they need to get out of trouble or a lucky one to get another set on our line. We get them on the first tackle in no mans land.

Yeah 3 losses from 3 with Phil Bentham. He doesn't hate Wigan, and I don't think two of those three losses can really be attributed to him, but it's obviously not a good omen. Hopefully he'll make up for the poor showing in the Leeds game.

Theres only so many Bent decisions that people can take from one ref. If he is bent again this Sunday all hell will break loose.

Bentham isn't bent. Incompetent maybe but I don't believe for one minute hes out to "Get Wigan".

He was harsh on us at Leeds but you can't blame the losses to Bradford and Quinns on him.

Maguire should keep out of it, we don't need to start looking for excuses 5 days before the game. If we keep our disicpline and play our stuff we know we can win.

As much as I hate Bentham, whether we win or lose will be more down to what we do than what he does.
